I'll bring up a DA:O example.
Leliana is slim and slender. She has a graceful dancer's body. Morrigan even notes that she could be mistaken 'for a boy.'
Morrigan is voluptuous and has a pleasantly curvy figure.
But they have EXACTLY THE SAME BODY.
If I have to go only by what's on screen, Dragon Age: Origins has no fat women, no women with sagging breasts, no skinny women, no muscular women, and no short or tall women. All human women come in exactly one shape. There's even a
joke comic about Wynne that's based around this.
So when we're talking about how Cassandra is butch, we're probably filling in a bunch of details. The way she walks and moves is probably not feminine. She is probably more muscular than the average woman. If she were wearing suit of armor, it would be easy to mistake her for a short man at a distance because short (human) men exist, even if you never see them in game.
Butch is about physical presentation, though. Haircut, make-up, clothes, etc. That's what can make one more or less butch, not just facial structure.
Right. Most butch women can be quite femme if they put on a dress, make-up, and heels, and carry a purse.
Though you sometimes have to remind them to
put their knees together.
