The Inquisitor might want to cause a bit of a scandal.  Whether in the hope of provoking wider change, to show that their silly social rules don't apply to me or just for fun.

Like a female qunari inquisitor making out with Sera on the floor infront of a huge Orlesian crowd?

That sure is gonna provoke a reaction.

Iron Bull is a qunari. I think he knows how to control himself, even if he now lives a wild lifestyle. Solas is already introverted and demure. Sera is really the only problem, but I assume that before you take them, you ask them if they'll behave themselves. She might be a spontanous, fun-loving person, but she's not a toddler.

Only Cole is a problem, what with him looking like the living dead.

Good luck getting Solas and Sera to wear something proper for a ball.

I was more thinking about the fact that you can bring servants to balls and IB, Solas and Sera fits the "servants" category  way more than the "proper gent and ladies" (Cole is just creepy). Which means that if you show up with them, they won't be seen has "date", but has "servants".

I also expect Josephine to give a three hours crash course on proper ball decorum...

Sera would be okay. . . until an Orlesian made a joke about city elves as a power play in the Game.

I suspect Orlesians would be too busy taking selfies to notice.

And the Orlesians LOVE the Game- it would be a power move to flaunt a culture that is so opposite of the Orlesian Chantry way of life, like associating with city elves and Qunari.

I doubt David will approach the subject of Cassandra's sexuality. He's never felt the need to explain why Morrigan, Viconia, Bastila, or any other romance he's written is straight, why would he start doing so?

Apologies, not my intention to sound douchy about this at all, but I dont understand this. How does one explain why someone is of a certain sexuality?

I happen to be Bisexual, but other than the fact I rather enjoy both the male and female form, I don't really know how I would explain WHY I am Bi. I simply am?

As Gaider is responsible for writing Cassandra(and the other characters you noted) and as such gave birth to her personality, beliefs and convictions so if he says she is straight why would he need to explain it? I am sorry, it's just sounds odd to me.

Again, not wanting to be douchy, it just stood out to me and I was curious.

Hell, I couldn't even tell you why I'm straight.

When i figure it out, I'll also explain why I drink water or sleep.

And I mean this for all sexualities. If we're all born a certain way, then what else do we have to reference?

The Lego Movie song, "Everything is Awesome" should be the world's approach to race, gender, sexuality, religion, etc.

I'm sure I'm the nth person to say this (sorry) but: Cass was my first choice for LI. Ah well, I'll romance her on my manquisitors :) She's still awesome and BW are still awesome.

David has said Cassandra is straight because there's a specific story he wants to tell. Her sexuality is not just something he picked out of a hat.

My second playthrough is going to be a female qunari warrior with anger management issues and anarchistic tendencies. If she can't tell the empress to pound sand (or she wont take the hint), she damn well better be able to bring anyone she chooses to the ball :D The empress will certainly learn that 'no means no' when my inq and the iron bull start their own party xD

But seriously, if Cass has a dress like the fanart one few dozen pages back, it will be impossible not to bring her if she's an option

Unless it involves pregnancy, I can't see why.

Does it honestly matter what his reasoning is, beyond that it fit the story? She's straight, and there's nothing we can do about it.

Do you mean this?  Because I would totally be down with her wearing this outfit.

Perhaps he just felt her story was more straight womanish.

Or he got tired of people making jokes about the Divine and how she liked to use her Right and Left hand.

It is funny though because I definitely don't consider Cass to be androgynous.  I look at her and pretty clearly see a woman.  I don't know if there's some bias there though.

Androgynous is not really the right word, but the person I was quoting also said "butch" and that didn't entirely fit her to me, either.  For lack of better descriptors, she's more "masculine" than other female LIs we've had.  She's a warrior, she's a leader, she's serious and stoic.  She's still drop-dead gorgeous, but as far as a Bioware LI goes, she's the most butch lady LI I've seen, and that's what makes her stand out so much.

Or, in his mind, that's a part of who she is. "Why don't you make her blonde? What does it matter?!"

I'm not sure I'll ever get tired of those jokes honestly. They're set up so well.

Well, at this point all we can say is that we confirmed that the Divine is left handed.

She's got what look like to be a lot of stereotypical masculine character traits, in other words?
