That's a joke? Going by how Dorothea had a thing with Morrigan and her subsequent mentoring of Leliana...
Wait, whaaaat?

David has said Cassandra is straight because there's a specific story he wants to tell. Her sexuality is not just something he picked out of a hat.
I don't think he sees sexual orientation as equivalent to hair color.
There is kid(s)
I'm gonna laugh if Cassandra's romance involves having children.
I may not have phrased that correctly. What I'm saying is that all of her traits are really gender neutral, but are thought of as male because we like to hog all the cool stuff.
Just going to throw my philosophical views in here and state that all traits really need to stop being gender associated at all, but that's the wacky world we live in, so whatever.
I might think DG is a smartass sometimes, but I never doubt his integrity as a writer. If he does something or envisions things a certain way, I'm sure he has a in-story/in-character reason for it. Not some other ulterior motive.
Oooo this this this. I'm sure David Gaider had his reasons… He can be a smartass, but he's a great writer. I don't really see what her orientation had to do with her characterization, but Gaider probably did. Then again, maybe it's as simple as "Sera's gay, Josephine's bi, now we need a straight female: how about Cassandra?" I don't know.
The writers don't determine the hair color though. The character artists do.

With advisement from the writers.
I imagine them looking over their shoulders. ![]()
Necromancer?
Is that any different to reason why Dorian is gay or sera a lesbian?
Chevalier for Sera, probably.

I'm not sure I'll ever get tired of those jokes honestly. They're set up so well.
I never heard those jokes before, I didn't even know they existed even though it's pretty much a dirty innuendo. I mean come on, left and right?
David has said that he wanted to tell specific sorts of stories with Dorian and Cassandra. Luke has said that Sera being gay is part of who she is, but he didn't write her as a lesbian. So yes, I'd say that Dorian and Cass are one approach to handling character sexuality while Sera is another. The warrior specializations are Reaver, Templar, and Champion. She's okay with Reaver.Navarians are okay with necromancy. It's something of an oddity.

I hope Sera is okay with the Champion spec otherwise we will have some problems. Also, what thing did Dorothea and Morrigan have??!!
ex-Chevalier. Cassandra probably won't care for fade rift magic, based on how she reacted to the Inquisitor, and using the magic Willy Nilly as a Mage might set her off.I would also argue champion is the class manifestation of Chevalier, since presumably we won't be able to join the order. Black Wall strikes Chevalier-Chevalier.

She's Nevarran. As Maria said, I don't think she'd have big problems with.
She can barely stand Regalyan using a healing spell on her. I don't think she represents the Nevarran status quo. They're almost on the brink of a Tevinter like level of mage power.

Think they meant marjolaine not morrigan.

Reminds me of that time when Morgana got created.

So what you're saying is that her family will be super cool with the Magequisitor.
Wait, whaaaat?
Oups typo. I'm supposed to be working see. I meant Marjolaine. *run off to fix*

It's a normal woman thing...
Necromancer?
Q: Is necromany a controversial form of magic in Thedas?
A: It's definitely a grey area, but the Nevarrans treat it carefully and with respect.
Most of Thedas burns their dead out of fear of undead, but the Nevarrans don't, so they have their own cultural rituals. (ML)

I'm just saying she isn't her family.
Being gay is who she is & telling specific sorts of stories sounds like different ways of saying same thing to me. They decided to move from approach where sexuality was ambiguous to fixed and specific approach. That required looking at character concepts they had and deciding which sexualities would be most interesting alongside character arc.

Joking aside, it made me laugh because I know Bioware has done children before in Baldur's Gate and....well, let's just say having a baby in youre inventory throughout the game was just weird.
But nah, I'd be cool with children.
You think they got 8 different models for Cass?
