Eh. She's overcome alot of those prejudices, though, and those mages seem to function as undertakers and tomb designers. She can barely stand Regalyan using a healing spell on her. I don't think she represents the Nevarran status quo. They're almost on the brink of a Tevinter like level of mage power.

I'm gonna laugh if Cassandra's romance involves having children.
I am absolutely certain that David Gaider isn't going to include children in a romance with Cassandra. If he does, then I'm going to start wearing a hat, so I can then eat it.
Now I could see him writing that she had a child in her past and then gave them up because of her responsibilities.

You summon spirits into dead bodies and sending them after your enemies is totes cool though.

I'll just say if she starts thinking necromancy is cool, I'll be surprised.
It's one thing to ease up on prejudices. Another to not cringe around the walking dead.

Fine. No more healing for her!

She prefers to use intimidation to get her wounds to heal faster.

I'm just saying she isn't her family.
I was mostly kidding. I debated having an outtake "Meet the Parents" type convo joke too, but I figured it was too over the top.

Healing spells are too much like books and maps for her taste.

If a child is involved in her romance, it's epilogue stuff, not middle of the game stuff. Maybe she'll mention it towards the end, but I don't know if we will ever see children in romances again ![]()

I expect if you spent a large amount of time killing people by stabbing them and hacking off their limbs, corpses wouldn't bother you that much. She makes the walking ones lay down and you make the lying ones walk.

David decides it's time to tell the story of a single mother trying to make it in Thedas. She tells you on the third date that she has an eight-year-old kid.
The rest of the romance is you attempting to bond with her temperamental brat.

I for one hope that having children as the culmination to a romantic affair is really not on the table for any romance, mostly because that sort of relationship drama is something I'm already tired of seeing IRL.

Yep! Its not magic being used on her living person that could manipulate or kill her.

People, it's possible Cassandra is barren and all the drama is more about the fact that she can't have children too...
Being gay is who she is & telling specific sorts of stories sounds like different ways of saying same thing to me. They decided to move from approach where sexuality was ambiguous to fixed and specific approach. That required looking at character concepts they had and deciding which sexualities would be most interesting alongside character arc.

@PatrickWeekes Not me! Every character I write is a Mary Sue or a Mary Stu. I just think, "What would *I* do in this situation?" And voila.

I guess.
Like I've said elsewhere, maybe I might be end up being more serious than Cassandra. If she turns into another Evangeline, and starts condoning all kinds of freaky magic, I'll end up being the hardass of the group. ![]()

I think she's secretly a Reaver and getting healed when you are low health makes you weaker.

No, it needs to be BG2 Aerie style baby having.
