I'm trying to figure out what kind of romance Cass will have, and I just can't even imagine it. What is bad ass Pentaghast like when she's in love? Conflicted? Lovey dovey? Furious?

 

I'm going to go insane before the 10th.

One thing I'm pretty confident of is that no one's going to be more surprised by a romance between Cassandra and the Inquisitor than Cassandra herself.

I definitely think the inquisitor is gonna have to initiate it first. I seriously doubt Cassandra will be the first one that starts to flirt.

I can imagine it being something like Jaheira from Baldur's Gate 2. It will take some time, she will be conflicted, you will have to break through her defenses, but once the romance is a fact, she will be chipper and happy. Not lovey dovey, not furious, but mature and happy about it... at least I hope so. I can not see Cassandra as lovey dovey or furious when in love, but I can see her blush and stutter every now and then when trying to come to terms with her feelings.

Yeah, she strikes me as the least solicitous of the potential love interests.   Which is why I think she'll be surprised when players hit the  button.  Should be cute to watch.

This. Especially when the romance is starting. My guess is that she will not take flirting seriously at first, then have a little shocked moment when she realizes the Inquisitor means it. I see her caught completely off guard by it.

Agreed. I wonder about the sexy times too... I don't see her jumping into bed with wild abandon, but I don't see her freezing either...

 

I know. The Inquisitor and her will stand around for a minute, feeling a little awkward about 'doing it', then Cass will just decide to go for it and push her man on the bed. When in doubt: charge!

I can see Cassandra totally subverting expectations and being completely at ease in formal wear. She's just that badass.

I can see Cassandra totally subverting expectations and being completely at ease in formal wear. She's just that badass.

 

She was also raised among nobility with all the things that goes with it. People forget it all the time. She was also among the higher up of the Chantry and going by DotS (and real life church), that is also full of formality and formal wear for formal occasions.

Exactly. She comes accross as churlish and mean, but that woman is no stranger to the court. Just because she prefers the direct approach doesn't mean she can't be subtle. I could see her getting back at those who tease her (Varric and Sera) that way.

She's not race or class gated.   She's just straight.

As for how her romance would work...I don't think she will make the first move , but after some subtle flirting from the inquisitor I'd imagine she would pull an Aria. The one with the female Shepard that is...Aria doesn't fancy human men With the same reactions afterwards from inq/Cass xD

It wasn't a rumor, that was me making a joke (which tend to become true but don't pay attention to that part). As far as we know Cassandra is only straight and there is no race gate.

Ah, okay. Thanks! There was so much info dumped over the past few days, it was difficult to make out what was fact and what was BS hehe.

 

Only 2 romances will be race-gated and that's because of story reasons. There wasn't any mention of class-gating.

 

And I doubt Cass is gonna be the one that's getting race-gated. I suspect Varric and IB more - provided they are LI's to begin with.

If she was race gated, they would've mentioned that.  I think it's pretty safe to assume that she has pretty broad tastes in men.
