One thing David Gaider said in his interview with LadyInsanity is that the player will not start the game as a leader. That leads me to believe that the first act of the game will focus on the player helping build the Inquisition, but not act as its leader. That makes me wonder if Cassandra initially takes up the leadership role before being replaced by the player. The question then is, does she cede authority to the player by choice, or is she coerced to. That could make for an interesting dynamic in her relationship with the player, romance or no.
I had the impression that the "no start the game as a leader" meant that the player wasn't a recognized leader of anything at the start of the game. Many people made the claim that the Inquisitor needed to be a recognized leader to be selected leader of the Inquisition. I always made the claim we would be random dudes with no leadership background. Right now, my year old idea of how the game start have been pretty much spot on.
I somehow expect Cassandra to be coerced in letting the player lead, but if she believes we are an agent of the Maker she might actually be the one to offer the job because of it. It's all depends of what she think the PC is.
During the lead them or fall trailer at e3 am guessing once Cassandra found the Inqusitor she either tortured him or he was really out of it[injured or distress],if that was indeed him when we saw the shadows of Viv and Cassadra walking away
That looked more like Leliana than Vivienne

It wasn't Viv, but Leliana. It only makes sense it's Leliana and Cassandra because they are already apart of the Inquisition and I think they brought you to the Skyhold and were waiting for you to wake up. Once you did, they come to interrogate you.
I so hope the prologue is playable
It should be like Ostagar where we can go around talking to all the important NPCs such as the Divine, Fiona, Rhys, Evangiline, Lambert, etc.

... Does that mean we get to snark at both of them at the start of the game? Oh, this is not going to help my restartitis...

Hehe, yeah. I am sure we can snark them both.

I will be sure to be nice to them haha

Perhaps we'll be able to pull a Zevran and offer ourselves to them, only for Leliana to roll her eyes in a 'oh no, not this again' way. ![]()

I can picture the both of them giving me this completely deadpan expression.
While Leliana doesn't appear to be as cheerful as she was in Origins I wonder if she'll take the Inquisitor surviving a cataclysm that killed thousands as a sign from the Maker? It wasn't Viv, but Leliana. how do you think cass would be win dwarf?I might go for a Human male or a Dwarf if she isn't racegatted.
I will be lucky to get throu one..Human male, at least at first. I've played through Origins a dozen times, I think DAI has potential for twice as many playthroughs. I'm going to be busy for a whole year...
I do t see many people wanting to play archers..but coolTrevelyan male warrior or archer.
yeah, I probably should have added friendship as well. I wonder how a friendship would go..Why does it always need to be about romance? What about people who want to be her friends. She looks like she needs friends...and hugs.
Saying that, my first playthrough is going to be a mage. Probably human, although Dalish might be interesting. I'm not a fan of races in the DA series, not sure why I got plenty of none-humans in other games. Class won't change, it's a tradition, but gender isn't fixed. Which means it could be a forever-along lady friendship playthrough or a romance one.

I think dumping should happen more often.I wonder if love triangles are around this time... If Cassandra and Josephine end up both wanting the Inquisitor... Although, being a diplomat Josie would probably let Cassandra have the field for the sake of unity. Cassandra would probably try to do the same too, being focused on the task at hand... Yep, if you try to romance them both, they'll both dump you. I'm calling it now!
yes!!!They confirmed that there is no polyamory in the game.
I've got three ideas for my Cassandramancing Inquisitors. All are subject for change based on new info.
1. Male rogue human. A cunning noble, used to using underhanded techniques to get his way, he's never been one to be all 'hold the line'. Also not a big fan of the Chantry or its teachings, despite coming from a very religious upbringing. But his glowing hand and demons raining from the skies can really change a man's opinion of things. And a dedicated woman of faith and determination may be just what it takes to make an honest(maybe pious?) man out of him
2. Male mage elf. A deep spiritualist and closeted Andrastian, this former First began to question Dalish teachings very early in life. As a child, he was taken from his parents to serve as First in another clan. He never really forgave the Dalish for that kind of heartbreak. He became quite rebellious towards his clan, leaving them for a time and even learning some of the Chant. He finds that his people lack substantial explanations for many of the things he sees in the world, especially after the demons come through the tears in the Veil. The Chantry teachings, however flawed they may be, provide a clearer picture, from his point of view. I think the two of them would share a deep bond, however differing their backgrounds.
3. Male Qunari of undetermined class. A thoughtful, quiet man. Kind and sweet, not at all like one would expect a Qunari to be. I've got this picture in my head of him giving Cassandra a beautiful flower with many sharp thorns(He's a bit more suave than Alistair about it, though). He tells her that no man can uproot such a flower without the thorns digging into his hands, because its roots are strong, and burrow deep into the earth. But such beauty is worth the pain. And hers is worth a million times more.
Not sure if i'll do a male dwarf romance with Cassandra. It's tough to find a good hook for the two.

im still holding out that the developers are trolling us and the game actually came out last week

beaches wont be in my future until march or april next year
While Leliana doesn't appear to be as cheerful as she was in Origins I wonder if she'll take the Inquisitor surviving a cataclysm that killed thousands as a sign from the Maker?
Inquisitor: Help you? Why in the Maker's name would I do that? And don't say "because you'll kill me".
Cassandra: You will join us because of that (gestures at glowing hand).
Inquisitor: If you want it you can have it, use that blade you're so attached to.
Cassandra: It will be easier for all of us if you cooperate.
Inquisitor: Well you'll have to excuse me then, I have a bit of an aversion to crazy Nevarran women holding blades to my throat.
Ah, the beginning of sweet romance.
Yeah totally. Best relationship ever. The Male Inquisitor and Cassandra beating the **** out of each other will be their way of expressing love. ![]()
Personally, for Inquisitors who wish to romance Cassandra, I do not think they have to be pro-Chantry or even Andrastian. They just have to be responsible, reasonable and have their own principles. That is all male Inquisitors have to do.
I base this off Regalyan.
He never changed for Cassandra. He was himself throughout the movie. He is a mage and he is not apologetic about yet he feels sorry for Cassandra's brother. He got the job done which is to save the girl. He viewed Cassandra as a comrade and he was only joking about Cassandra "liking it on top".
So IMO, if male Inquisitors, be it a mage or a human noble or a Dalish elf or a surface dwarf, can romance Cassandra successfully provided they are responsible, they have a code / standard of honor they live by and be themselves.
I do not think Cassandra is into men who change themselves because she is Andrastian. If anything, IMO, Cassandra values other things but definitely not conformity. We have seen plenty of examples of herself not conforming to conventions, instead preferring to just get her job done.
