Did the anime shown where Cassandra used to live? Because in theory, some nobles might make their children grown in a spartan environment, with a spartan education.

I always thought she used to live in Hunter Fell, the small town the Pentaghast clan is originated from. It would make sense for blood mages in seach of a dragon hunter to go look for one in their cradle-land.

@The Elder King

The anime made it look like she was in a village, she even call it that from what I remember, but Redcliff is a village too and there is a huge castle right beside it... Saying that, I think that Nevarra is Sparta.

Gaider said she talks a bit about their "death belief" in his interview with LadyInsanity, so she will talk about Nevarra. How much is the question.

I admit, I'll be reallyyyyyy disappointed if Cass doesn't speak of the Grand Necropolis. I just have this headcanon where she discusses with the Inquisitor of places in Nevarra they could go and visit together once the main quest will be over, and Cass mentions the Necropolis and the crypts of her clan. Adorable awkwardness follows.

Also hail, fellow Cass lovers.

I always wondered how a group of blood mages somehow managed to kill off an entire branch of the royal family of Nevarra or why they were living in what seemed to be peasant huts in the first place.

Poor knowledge of the lore?

That'd be grand.

"I can't wait to show you the Necropolis. Imagine an underground city, as large as the smaller Marcher cities but composed of nothing but palaces supplied with every comodity imaginable; they even have fountains. We can live in different castles in each different day of the week. It will be just us and the undead.

Pardon?"

When Lady Insanity interviewed Gaider last week, he said that Cass mentions it.

I personally thought it was an hunting camp/village, the blood mage where looking for a hunter to find them a dragon. Seems like a good place to look.

As for the blood mages, we don't know exactly how that assault ended. We only know Cassandra's brother died in it, but she didn't. It's possible all the blood mages died and few Pentaghasts did.

Oh and  for all we know, the majority of the Pentaghasts are the outdoor type and prefer huts to castles...

Huzzah! Le me is now a very happy panda !

Well, Hunter Fell could be made of peasant huts.

More seriously, I think it's poor knowledge of the lore too. Like the army made of golems and ogres. The former I can accept in a "It's Varric-storytelling all over again" way, the later is totally mind-blowing: eight years before the Blight when everybody is convinced the Darkspawn are long gone..., and Cass doesn't even blink or worry? And the Anthony stuff... I admit, before watching the movie myself, I thought the blood mages had "only" killed him (in a totaly gruesome way, but...), not "killed Anthony and everyone Cass ever knew and loved before putting her village to the torch". "Sole survivor" trope much?

The actress is English.

I think it's a bad German/Austrian accent.

My first language is Austrian German and I somewhat agree with you. She definitely has a ''hard'' accent and pronunciation which is typical for native Germans/Austrians speaking English.

The Mass Effect team has always been upfront that dudeShep was their vision of the character. I often got the sense that Hudson and others on the team would have been happy to have a pre-defined protagonist like Geralt of Rivia or Adam Jesson.

Oddly, I've found that it's totally impossible for me to play as dudeShep since my initial playthrough was femShep. Yet I didn't have the same problem with Hawke.

Yeah. I also have German as a mother tongue, although now I live in the US and mostly speak English. I don't sound very much like her, but I probably would if I lived in England and went to a posh school.

Any fellow Cassandranites planning on taking this goddess into battle with the Inquisitor as much as possible?  I know I am!  Especially since I'm rolling a rogue.

I usually play as a female character in RPGs whenever it's an option, but I am also going to play as a male rogue to romance Cass :D

Seems like they acted on that wish with ME3.

Yes! Regardless of class or protagonists.

Unless I end up hating her of course ( I doubt it) or when I do my 4 mages playthrough (already did 4 warriors and 4 rogues in previous games).

I was pretty much planning on the combo of 2 warriors, a ranged rogue, and a mage combo for most of the game.  I'll be a 2 handed warrior so that essentially leaves the other slot for Cassandra most of the time.

I plan to have her in my party but am unsure as to whether I want to make her sword and board or a two-hander.

I try to stick to lore and what I believe the companion would do if left to their own druthers. Hopefully, her skill tree gives me some insight.

Everyone talks about the inquisitor leading the inquisition. Can I just differ every choice in the game to Cassandra?
