I find it weird because it looks very hard to braid going by its size. Otherwise I don't mind it, we barely see it anyway.

I figured it was just braided loose and then coiled around her head and then pinned to the rest of her hair to keep it in place.

That would give her a very weird hairdo when it is lose. The rest of her hair is really short. It's like a very long padawan's braid that start somewhere and coil around the head.

True I guess it could be a different kind of braid too where it would just make her hair a bit longer if it was undone.  I'm not a stylist so I have no idea of what kind of braid was used.

Perhaps it's a weird cultural affectation like wearing a baseball cap backwards or sagging your pants.

Now I really want to see Cassandra wearing a baseball cap backwards.    :)

Ah. Found it. HERE'S the dang concept art that just didn't want to cooperate. I prefer Cassandra with short hair. I think long hair would have been a big mistake. And Varric definitely looks better now than in this concept.

I think Cassandra technically still has long hair just wrapped up

Sagging pants isn't cultural affectation

How is it not a cultural affectation?

I mean, wearing pants is a cultural affectation, let alone deliberately wearing them low.

He's talking about the braid. There is a cosplayer on tumblr that explain it very well how it might work.

Pants are a universal constant. Or something?

Sagging pants is pretty much a top example of a cultural affectation, isn't it?  I'll grant you the culture size is quite small (and I'll refrain from trying to call that group by whatever name those cool kids are giving it these days, mainly because I'll get it wrong) but it fits the definition, I'd say.

Yeah, that was what I was thinking as well.  That it would be a bit more like a mullet in how the braid is done.  Either that or she has her hair cut in such a way that it is layered so that her hair looks shorter when she has the longer hair up in a braid, but when it is let loose, it gives her a look of having longer hair.

Yeah, but I'd really like to see what her hair looks like with the braid let loose as well.  Who knows, maybe we can take her as our date on Vivienne's ball that we go to and she'll have her hair down when wearing her dress.

Well, maybe a DLC will have the characters who have their hair up be able to let it down.

Why would you want to kill Fluffy like that? Because you know if him vs Cassandra, she'd need like a minute max right?  :D

She kills giant, scaled, winged monsters capable of breathing fire.

A giant dog covered in fur really wouldn't be that much of a threat.

Man, you are a cruel dog owner. Cassandra will not digest well, especially if she's eaten alive. Kind of reminds me of the Bug when it ate Tommy Lee Jones from Men in Black.

I think Cassandra would totally do that to a dragon.

*Dragon swallows the party's weapons, leaving them helpless*

Inquisitor: Cassandra, where are you going?!

Cassandra: I'm getting my weapon back. *waves at the Dragon* Hey, I'm right here dragon! Do you realize how many of your kind I've slain? You're nothing but the next set of dragonhide on Skyhold's wall, you scaly, gold-hoarding overgrown lizard! Eat me! EAAAT ME!!!!!

*Dragon swallows Cassandra whole*

Inquisitor: Cassandra!

Varric: Seeker!

*Dragon howls in pain, a sharp point protruding out of its throat. Cassandra soon slices her way out of the dragon*

Dragon: *gurgle, gurgle, wheeze, hrrrnh, blaahhh*

Cassandra: *Stands herself up with her sword, soaked in dragon blood and trying to catch her breath, holding Bianca in her other hand*

Inquisitor: Dear Maker/Creators

Cassandra: *panting* Want her back, Varric?

Varric: *runs up and snatches Bianca* Oh baby, did that mean monster hurt you? *begins testing Bianca's cocking ring*

Inquisitor: How did- You- What- Really?!

Cassandra: *points to herself* Dragon hunter. Your family taught you how to swing a sword. Mine taught me how to be eaten alive by a dragon and live.

...I always thought that 'braid' was a headband O_o   I don't think that is even physically possible to create. At the very least, Cassandra would be spending a couple of hours each morning  making that thing. How does one even braid hair like that alone? Argh....It looks so goofy >.<

It's possible she leaves it like that all the time. Maybe it's padding for the helmet? And yes, it does look goofy. I wonder if we can threaten to cut it off if she annoys us? And would it be effective? (probably not)

I'm not sure how I'd feel about a mullet.

Unless she's trying to channel 80's pro wrestlers, in which case the next step would be stripping to her underwear and rubbing oil all over.
