It's not front DA2 and it's a bit misinterpreted.

 

It started last year when Hard in Hightown II was seen in the trailer on Cassandra's table (well the Inquisitor's table now). Fans started to joke that Cassandra is a fan of Varric's work and the devs joked about it as SDCC last year (and it might have made it into the game too). The misinterpretation is that fans have the impression that Varric writes porn novels when what he actually writes is crime/cop serials. And tus Cassandra reading smut was born...

Speaking of Varric's work... I hope it is mentioned in DA:I. The fan stuff in regards to his "Novels" is great as well, especially when FemHawke is thrown on the covers.

 

 

Stuff like that is glorious and hilarious. Seems like something Varric would do without informing Hawke.

 

 

Cassandra being a secret fan of the work would be hilarious as well and a way to break the ice between them since apparently Varric didn't like Cassandra's interrogation technique.
