The gating would probably be for really prosaic reasons like a Trevelyan and Cass bonding over a shared background.

Given Nevarra's history with the Free Marches, it would be funny to learn that the Pentaghasts and Trevelyans are historically enemies.

That would be funny. yeah. But I don't expect Cassandra to be the type that judges a person by their family name, but by their actions.

And it hardly seems the time to pick up an old feud :P They can fight it out beneath the sheets in private after its all done.

That would be awesome, but I doubt Cassandra would care.

I know I would. But seriously are there actual story reasons as to why Cassandra could be race gated? I notice some have named Cassandra next to Cullen or Vivienne (if she is a LI) to be very likely to be race gated and I'm curious as to why.

Vivienne has her status to keep in mind if she want to survive the Grand Game. That's limit her to human only to avoid scandals. Cassandra could have something similar with her being a noble of royal blood and all that, but we haven't seen any indication that she cares about her social standing unlike Vivienne.

I doubt it would come up as anything more than a footnote, but I would see it as being an icebreaker.

Actually, I suspect she and a human mage would probably have a lot in common. Since they're both ex-nobles, so to speak.

I think they would be coming at it from different directions, though.  Cassandra gave up her title willingly, while the Mage's would've been taken from them.

Goes further with Cassandra choosing to be in the Inquisition and the Inquisitor pretty much having to join because of circumstances beyond their control. Glowing hand thing and all.

Yep. And you can't tell me that wouldn't be interesting to watch them discuss that. Or at least it interests me. If I didn't absolutely fail at playing men, I might roll such a mage to romance her.

Yes, there's that.   On that note, I really hope we get to play the reluctant hero, because I do dig my reluctant heroes.

I haven't been on the site in a couple of weeks. What have I missed? What's this talk about race gating? Just more speculation>?

Yes, more speculation.  Gaider kiboshed the assumption that the two unannounced romances were the race-gated ones.

I feel obligated now to name my inquisitor; Jaime.

Tywin would make more sense.

There is only one Tywin, but plenty of Jaime's.

I'd love it!Especially considering that I'm going to romance Cass with my Trevelyan.

Would make more sense if they were siblings.

Tywin and Joanna on the other hand were cousins,so yeah it'd be more appropriate if it was true.

If Vivienne is a LI I could definitely see her and Cullen being the race gated ones. Guess we will see.

Also I think no matter how you look at it a mage inquisitor is probably going to get some mixed feelings out of Cassandra whether it is based on her brother getting killed by mages or the mage-templar war that is going on.

The topic of Cassandra and the Trevalyan being able to relate in to each other when it comes to the fact that both seems to have abandoned their nobility is interesting. I wonder though, just how powerful is the Trevalyan family?

Powerful enough that they sent a representative to the peace conference. That's something.

If I ever feel like rolling a really boring character, I'll play as a human male.  And I'll name him...Alec.  Alec Trevelyan.

Hm. I think I've come up with a male Inquisitor concept. The question is: do I want to use him for Cassandra?

I would name him either Terrence Warrick Ichabod Trevelyan or Trevor Walter Arthur Trevelyan. (initials...)

Or rather do you want Cassandra to use him? *giggity*
