Maybe Cassandra is more submissive than she would like to admit, hence why she allows the inquisitor to lead the party
Perhaps.

I doubt it'll be extremely quick. No one will listen to you from the get go. At that point, you're a nobody.
I've been wondering this exact thing... it implies that our background already involves combat and/or leading troops, unless Cassandra is the leader for the first string of missions, then decides to hand you limited authority (that increases over time)?
I think that would make the most sense, and why Cassandra would relinquish authority of the organization to the protagonist. The Dalish protagonist could be the First (as a mage) or apprenticed to one of the hahren (as a non-mage); the Dwarven protagonist could have some leadership experience with the Dwarven Merchant's Guild, the carta, or another dwarven organization (perhaps depending on player choice, assuming we are permitted any degree of input over our background); the Vashoth could have some leadership skills among the Tal-Vashoth and Vashoth community (although I'm a little more sketchy on this given our lack of knowledge about their society).
Sir I am not a nobody, I am a Lannister error I mean Trevelyan
Cassandra: "Do you feel in charge?"
Someone Photoshop Cassandra with Bane mask, pronto!
heh, i got a laugh at the thought of that i admit.

Speak of the Devil, and she shall appear.

One of the dev (Gaider? Cameron?) said that we don't start has a leader in a recent interview (chat? too many news drop recently, can't keep track of them). The dev hinted that you can totally fail at leading the Inquisition too, so I don't think demonstrating leadership skills is going to be a requirement for the post...

This gives me hope that we'll have room to make a wide variety of Inquisitors...
Part 4: No pain, no gain.
The Inquisitor tried to step back and slipped on the torn bed sheet lying on the floor and fell on his back. Cassandra fell with him. Keylan had hit his head on the shield and he felt dizzy, before he could gain his bearing, Cassandra jumped on him and sat with her legs on either side of Keylan. She was holding his arms under the weight of her knees, so he couldn’t free himself. She grabbed the dagger with both hands, poised for a killing blow.
“AAARRGGGGHHHH…”
Before the dagger could reach its target, Inquisitor had freed his hand to block it. The dagger sank halfway through the Inquisitor’s hand.
“Sweet, ANDRASTE! That ****** hurts!”
As soon as she saw blood, Cassandra loosed the grip on the dagger. Keylan freed his other hand and removed the dagger from his hand. He threw the dagger away.
Cassandra had her face in her hands, slouching over him. She was now crying, or rather wailing.
Keylan had never seen Cassandra so vulnerable and he didn’t like it. He reached out and pushed her hands away, grabbing her face in his hands. He tried to wipe tears from her cheeks.
Keylan was heartbroken, to see Cassandra like this, “I am so… so sorry for your brother. I had no Idea. But you have to believe me, when I tell you that whatever I do, I do to ensure the survival of people of Thedas.”
“I never thought I would care for a Templar, much less a seeker, but I do. I care about you more than my life, more than this world. Trust me when I say, that I truly love you.”
She fell on him, hugging him tightly. Before he could think further, Cassandra moved her face a little closer to his. Of all the times he had seen her, this was the first time she was looking defeated and he did not like it all. He liked her strong, angry.
“A question… is this dagger poisoned? It’s kind of itching.”
“N… not likely.”
“You are not su-”
And she kissed him. It was Keylan’s first kiss and it went for about 15 minutes. It was broken by a crashing sound at the door, accompanied by several voices.
“Inquisitor!?”
There were several guards on the door along with Iron bull. Of all the people that could have seen Inquisitor and Cassandra in this state, it had to be Iron-bull.
Cassandra hugged the Inquisitor even tighter and buried her head in his chest, trying to hide from their gazes. Her armor plate was crushing him.
Iron-Bull shoved the guards away from the door and put his head inside the room. “I would have not believed it, if I had not seen it with my own eyes. Such… such mayhem! You even put me to shame, Inquisitor. Carry on, carry on. We shall meet in the morning… or the next.” And with a wink he left the room, closing the door behind him.
I loved the whole series and I would love if this was a moment in the game. I would also love it if the soldiers feared Cass more than the Inquisitor if you are too nice.
It's possible. Mr.Gaider already said that the reason they made her straight was because they were writing a sepcific type of romance for her. This means that they already gave priority to the storyline over making her acessible to as many players as possible. Thus, it is not impossible that they want to write a really, really specific type of romance and thus would restrict her further.
This is not, necessarely, a bad thing. It can be disappointing to not be able to romance her with the character you were hoping to create; I know I'll be sad if she is race-gated against humans; but it could also mean that her romance will be really deep.
I imagine it would be harder to write something deep and nuanced when the character can be romanced by humans, dwarves, elves and qunari of either gender. You'd have to adapt it to every type of Inquisitor which would leave little room for other types of romantic interaction.
I agree with what you're saying but if Cassandra was race gated against humans then I lose my reasoning and understanding. I mean, it wouldn't make sense at all, what human isn't attracted to another human?
Speak of the Devil, and she shall appear.
Lucifer was a bro according to most of the stuff I've read ._.

In reality, none. ![]()
Fantasy is another matter though, there could be some humans who only like elves or qunari or dwarves and not humans.

I have to say, the last part bugs me a little. Even though I'm pretty sure it was unintentional on your part, you make it sound that those who are bisexual are less deep than those who are heterosexual or homosexual, to which I strongly disagree.
Exactly. I believe it was stated that the idea of making Cassandra a romance for the next DA game was already floating around DA 2.
And this is why I think she won't be one. They've been playing with the idea longer than almost any other LI in Inquisition, meaning they had plenty of time to make stories work with other races. After all, originally all LIs were going to be human-only and yet now we know 6 out of 8 are available to all 4 races.
I'm pretty Cass will be available to romance for Human PC's.

Yeah but we don't care about that. We want to able to romance her as qunari. The way God intended.
In reality, none.

True but...well, I guess the best example is Maric who had a elven fetish.
Yeah but we don't care about that. We want to able to romance her as qunari. The way God intended.
At least 40% of the players play human male so I'm sure they do care about that. I know I do.

Booo

I don't think demographics will have anything to do with who or what Cassandra likes.

You mean Vashoth. Another word for oversized human with horns and pointy ears.

Yeah, I think they meant during the very beginning we are not the leader. I bet after one main quest we are made Inquisitor. I'm guessing before then, we are addressed as our last name.
Yeah but we don't care about that. We want to able to romance her as qunari. The way God intended.
Yeah, the only way to do a hetero romance with Cass would only be with an elf or qunari or dwarf. I have no desire to use a human male for some reason.
