If i recall correctly Italy stopped having King's after world war 2.

 

So Yes, They aren't protecting a non existent Title Holder anymore,and unfortunately Halberds are rusting in armories.

 

They do occasionally have them for parade use though! You really can't go wrong with a big stick with a jagged piece of metal on it, no sir.

I'm not finding anything about women CURRENTLY serving in the Pontifical Swiss Guard, let alone in a role which would offer Cassandra the same kind of authority and responsibilities as she has in the Seekers of Truth. Your sources?

 

Besides, Cassandra's character profile makes her sound (in my opinion) better suited for life as a cop than a papal guard. She is conflicted about her duty and her faith because she has experienced so much outside of the traditional Chantry environment. She's like a beat cop stuck in the middle of a pseudo-medieval fantasy world.

How odd, i was going to point towards their page on Wikipedia, but it appears the article was edited recently, and it is back to it's prior "Single Catholic" male pretext.

Well...You do know that many organizations and groups preform interrogations yes? Militaries being among them, And Terrorists, and Mercenaries and...This list could get very long, very quickly but the point of it is if you want her to do her "good cop" "Bad Cop" Routine, She can do elsewhere

 

Though admittedly i can't see Cass going merc, she doesn't seem to value currency all that much.

They do use halberds for ceremonial duties, but they have the Sig P220 pistol and the SIG 550 assault rifle in their armory, so they can defend the leader of the crazies with modern day weaponry.

Yeah, the only way to do a hetero romance with Cass would only be with an elf or qunari or dwarf. I have no desire to use a human male for some reason.

 

I do one male playthrough when I play DA games, just for variety and for restriction reasons. I don't like playing Dwarfs, I only pick Elves for my female characters as elves are my favourite fantasy race and for DAI I'm not too pushed about trying out a Qunari... as of now. So that only leaves me with humans and I'm fine with that, don't mind playing a Human for my lone male playthrough. I did the same thing for Morrigan in DAO and I enjoyed that run, not as much as my canon Dalish she-elf but still fun nonetheless. Generic human male is alright with me, for my alt run anyway!

Although saying this curiosity might get the better of me which could make me try out a Qunari as they are a shiny new toy. Won't do a male Qunari to try out the Cass romance tho but I might try out a female Qun in a later playthrough. Old habits die hard, dem she-elves are hard to ignore for me.
