They shouldn't race gate period, it's a dumb idea to me but they don't take my calls anymore so i guess they don't want my input.

For story reasons I'm okay with race-gating some, makes certain character arcs more unique and yunno will add replay value. I can't see Cass being gated against humans, that would be silly but it's possible she may have reservations against Qunari, would make sense given her role in the Chantry.

I personally like the race-gating idea.
Well like i said, if it was for humans only, i wouldn't mind it much (note much) i usually play human characters on my first and followup playthroughs, but if its for something like Elves, Dwarves or the pointed Giants, i would be upset.
I just view it as restrictions that don't make sense half the time if you give it thought, I mean sure i can see why Cass wouldn't want to date a Dwarf or Qunari, due to height and or political/racial notions.
Why not her own kind? I mean sure she got a peck from an elf two decades ago, GET OVER IT WOMAN!

I don't think it's race gating as much as it is background gating. Cass is more likely to be going "ick a carta hitman" than "ick, dwarves."

Although saying this curiosity might get the better of me which could make me try out a Qunari as they are a shiny new toy. Won't do a male Qunari to try out the Cass romance tho but I might try out a female Qun in a later playthrough. Old habits die hard, dem she-elves are hard to ignore for me.

I keep confusing the different types of qunari, we ain't even hardcore ones in this game, keep mixing em up. 
If BioWare removed race-gating from the romances and to make up the cinematic budget they removed Josephine as a love interest, would that be a net positive in your view?

I don't know ... I think race-gating makes sense in some situations.
I can't picture Cassandra romancing a Qunari for political and religious reasons.
Also, some pairings are just plain creepy. Let's match up a 4 foot tall dwarf with a 7 foot tall, 300 pound Qunari. Sure, nothing weird about that ....

I was thinking along something that wouldn't interfere with wearing armor so it couldn't have straps that dug into the body when the person sweated, and i doubt she cares much for color so it would likely be plain so yeah.

Nah, those things ride, it would make the person uncomfortable in heavier armors.
She seems practical, but i doubt she would go out of the way to actually hamper combat performance
