Nice. I defo have to get back into a routine soon, was great for a time, then I got lazy again.

Do it, life is way too long to spend it in a weak, pasty body. We've already posted some good motivational for you, no? And if you need any help, I have 10 years of professional lifting and cardio experience, you can shoot me a PM any time. :)

Despite me not being in service shape, i do keep myself strong.

Squat thrusts are you friends, so are dead pulls and arm bars.

I love compound exercises. Romanian deadlifts, military shoulder presses, squats of course, weighed commando pull-ups, dumbbell decline bench presses, farmers walk. Those exercises totally activate your beast mode.

Anyways, to bring this back to Cassandra. :P

Since Woldan mentioned exercises; I could definitely see her around Skyhold training alot.

Deadlifitng entire bookshelves filled with 500+ page romance novels. :P

Seriously, seeing something like that would be nice.

You know, being muscular is not ''manly'' because nowadays 99.5% of men aren't muscular at all.

She is Cassandrular.

Or just a fit person.

99.5% is too high number for non-muscular men, I'd say 88% maybe?

Aha thanks, my sis is a personal trainer so I'll just have to get her to torture me in the months to come.

And this thread has taken an odd detour, will return to Cass now. :P

Everytime i go out, all i see are normal bodies. Not muscular at all.

Define normal? You can't always tell if someone is muscular if they have a shirt on.

Just to weigh in on the earlier topic:

Both Gina Carano and Ronda Rousey could snap my arms like twigs anytime they wanted and I'd probably just say "thank you, may I please have another?"

That is all.

I can only speak from my experience, and from every 100 men I see on the streets in the city only one is in halfway decent shape, not even muscular. And its more likely to see the Yeti in a pink tutu dancing down the streets than a fit woman
Nobody in my family is in good shape either, despite my efforts.

Its easy to analyze someones state of fitness if you examine that persons posture and arms too. Posture says so much about a persons condition, muscular imbalances and what he or she does for a living. Also, its hard to hide your skinny arms, chest and bony shoulders while wearing light clothing in summer.

You can easily see if the person is muscular. If we talk very muscular, yes. Also, it's summer time and 95% of dudes had no muscles at all.

Edit, ofc

amen to that.  meh, I don't like it. Cass is muscular, and has to keep toned..a cass like that..is just not cass..

I think she was fine for the most part.  Just needed a bit more muscle definition.  She's not going to be a body builder or anything like that especially since she doesn't have big muscly arms in the screenshots.

I don't know, muscular can range from light muscle to bodybuilder and everything in between. Sorry about getting off topic.

And yet, not many dudes have muscles. You get muscles only by workout.

Being in the fitness industry for 5+ years now, I can tell you this is very very incorrect

Yeah, it can range from being completely ripped like a body builder to being flabby/fat.  Most women and men that do a lot of physical work will have some muscle definition but not be like a body builder.  So with Cassandra, I'd expect her to have some muscle definition but not a whole lot.

Well your diet is also another factor as well.  In general if you do work out every day, you are going to get some muscle built up but if you eat nothing but junk food, that bit of muscle development will be overshadowed by fat.  Essentially you are probably going to look like linebackers you see in American Football.

Cassandra's body type is not muscular and buff.  It seems, from the pictures we see of her in her armor, that Cassandra's body type is athletic. Something like Jessica Ennis.

Since we're talking fitness. It's possible to have a lot of muscle without it showing, especially women. Muscle definition is a result of low bodyfat. You could see a tiny guy with a six pack, but that doesn't mean he's strong. Just skinny.

Case in point: Zydrunas Savickas, world's strongest man of 2014. Tons of muscle, little definition.

I reckon if I was to liken her body type to someone it would be similar perhaps to Jessica Ennis

Spoiler

Not too big and bulky, but well developed, toned, physically at her peak of fitness. She is a warrior after all, she would be strong.

O_O Add a permanently hacked-off expression, lighter eye color and some scars and that's our Cass right there! That's what a woman with discipline and strength looks like, and by the gods if she isn't nosebleed-inducing gorgeous!

Could so as well. Would be cool if there was a similiar kind of a "Vega" moment with her.

Its a different case for men however as men and women are genetically different. Women don't produce anything close to the same amount of testosterone as men. Its just not possible for women to put on *what i consider* a decent amount of muscle mass without....ahem abusing "supplements"

One should keep in mind that all the professional strongmen you see competing in TV do steroids in cycles to obtain their inhuman strength. Sadly most professional athletes do drugs; cyclists, sprinters, lifters...

If you want to see true strength without cheating you have to go way back to the classic 19th century strongmen, and their feats of strength -while extremely impressive- are believable.

This is a good point. I don't think it's actually physically possible for the majority of women to become beefy and muscular without the use of hormones or steroids.

That's not to say they can't be strong, but while they can have muscle definition they are unlikely to beef out the way a lot of men do.

Got an strong evidence to support that?
