I actually do think that Cass will be race-gated now.
She and the Human Inquisitor share so many similarities.
Possible. Cassandra's romance was likely mostly finished before they decided to delay DAI a year to add other races. It could be that instead of re writing her to accommodate other races, they instead just expanded the romance options. If she is race gated, that would be my guess why.
Doesn't explain for the human warrior/rogue though. They had family there who died as well.
It's possible that Cassandra doesn't ignore the chance that what happened was caused by someone inside of the Chantry. It wouldn't be the first time she had to deal with that.

It's entirely possible that Cassandra simply doesn't know who the Human PC is at the start and wasn't in the mood to make acquaintances.

I seriously doubt that any of the LI's will only be availible to 1/8 of possible Inquisitor race/gender combinations.
We know that everyone has at least 2 LI's, so if Cass is human only then Vivienne must be an LI, and I can't see Cassandra being race gated towards elves and Vivienne not being race-gated towards them.

2 LI's for each sexuality yes.
They never said anything about equal distribution regarding races.
I admit. I'd be tempted to play a Dalish Mage is I could make them as loopy as Merril.
Let's be honest, that would be pretty funny. It would even be funnier if all the origins happened at the same time.
Imagine, a Human Warrior sighing because his parents forced him to go to that stupid conclave and having to deal with his rebellious older sister always complaining about the facilities in the Circle and pestering him to know the Trevelyans' last gossip. A Qunari mage just doing her job despite the odd looks by Chantry members, wishing the conclave could just be finished to get her money and go back home. A Dalish First who went there without a disguise so that she could tell the Keeper she tried and failed, but since the shemlen just can't tell apart a Dalish tattoo from a normal one, she stayed for the free food. And a Dwarf criminal amazed at the sheer quantity of lyrium in the temple and making plans to get back with some Carta friends after the conclave is ended to dismantle the walls and sell the valuable material inside.
And then... BOOM!

That's not really something the dev are going to share before the game is released, but Gaider did work on the weekend last August for a few weeks along with Karin Weekes.

I just remembered that Gaider said he wrote Cassandra romance (aka he wrote two romances).
I am thinking about RP-ing as a young human male mage Inquisitor, a 25 year old Trevelyan. The human mage story is interesting for they are directly involved in the mage-templar war and they are part of a noble family that is pro-Chantry.
Sort of like a black sheep. I am sure with the way I play, being agnostic / atheist will make my Trevelyan even more of a black sheep. 
Mostly likely will romance Cassandra. Hopefully she likes her loves young and youthful.

Nope, doing a human male warrior first, especially now that I think the background for the human inquisitor is more interesting in general for the game I think.
I'm avoiding that problem by playing a human from the start.

It has nothing to do with race, though. The human Inquisitor is a noble (or former noble, who could probably regain his title), which is probably too similar to the life which Cassandra left behind.
