And that's why they're private. Looking at them is peeking under the mask that people construct to show the world.

If you say so.
I personally think people are making a big deal out of it.

Helps that they do share similarities, if not in personality, but most certainly in belief and conviction, and sense of doing good.

I doubt Cassandra drinks anywhere near as much as Cassidy.
Where did you get the idea that I thought not being physically attracted to someone counted as racism? That is far from my opinion.
Some people act as if it's racism if a character is not able to be romanced by other races. Sure it might be the case for some NPCs to be racist but Bioware generally doesn't do that with their party members. I think the closest they came was Ashley in the Mass Effect series and even then she wasn't racist, she was just focused on her own race's agenda and advancement but it could come across as being racist.
One could easily not be physically attracted to other races and yet still treat them equally as individuals.
I don't think any of the party members are going to be racist but could have their own preferences. Look at Varric for example, he has shown that he prefers dwarven women but would you consider him racist?
I don't think Cassandra herself is racist. Could she have a preference for Humans over the other races? Sure it's possible but I think it would be more about her not being physically attracted to the other races.
landmines, quit stepping on them people.... and landmines, quit blowing up, just ignore it
Urazz, nowhere in my posts do I make any claims that not finding someone attractive makes a character racist, and I never would. It's not what I believe, and it's an incredibly illogical argument. And if you had read my posts a little more carefully, you might have noticed that I was arguing against that. So you're talking to the wrong person.
Regardless, I firmly believe that Cassandra will not be race-gated. I don't think an Inquisitor's race or background will make much of a difference to her. It's the Inquisitor's actions that will have the greatest effect on her opinion of them, not whether they have pointy ears, horns or if the top of their head only measures up to her shoulders. She seems like the type of person who really doesn't care how you look or feel, but how you act and what you do.
On the topic of that, though, Who else knows who their first Cassandra-mancing Inquisitors will be? I've got 4 right now, one of each race. Just not sure which one to play first.
-A Qunari mage with a sweet, tender heart underneath the emotional layers he's had to put up over his mercenary career. I keep having this image of him giving Cassandra a flower he found while out adventuring. Very Alistair-like, now that I think of it.
-A Dalish mage who dislikes his people's isolationist tendencies, and thinks that holding onto the past will only lead to their dying out and irrelevance. He also finds human religion very intriguing, and I can see him converting at some point in the story, if he's confronted with enough evidence.
-A Dwarf rogue or warrior(haven't decided which one) who's criminal past has led him to be utterly ruthless to his enemies, but staunchly loyal and protective to those under his command and/or protection.
-A Human rogue who remains disdainful of the Chantry he was forced to serve and uses his strong sense of humor to hide his true feelings.
All of them good, and I'm sure I'll get to them eventually. I'm leaning towards the Human, since that's what I played the first time out in DA:O.
My Cassandra-mancing Inquisitor will be a rogue dwarf who was never really happy being part of a criminal family and always wanted to quit for a better life. The Inquisition will be his perfect way out, but will turn out to be much more than he bargained for. A bit cliché, but oh well.
I have ideas for other Inquisitors, and I don't doubt I'll end doing a playthrough with each of the other races, but so far Cadash is the only one I'm really hyped for, especially due to his relationship with Cass.

Yeah, probably the same sort of deal for my inquisitor with the intentions to leave a criminal family. I'm super excited for Cassandra romance, hopefully with a Cadash warrior.

And now I feel old for remembering giving her father jet causing him to have a heartattack >.<
Cassandra-mancing Inquisitior.
I really want to try a dalish necromancer mage too. If I end up doing that is another question though. I don't really pre-plan stuff for the first playthrough.

I think Cassandra will be whatever Gaider decided to do with her.
From what I have read about the human backgrounds is that he and Cass share alot of similarities. It could create a very interesting story if she is race-gated.
Still playing about with who my Cassandra romancing inquisitor will be. Pretty set on human origin fitting her best, but after seeing details Mage class may end up providing least issues with creating a mage friendly, agnostic character considering the origin and may provide some spice in romancing a seeker.
Human mage Inquisitor, hating templars and hoping for some interesting discussion with Lady Pentaghast ![]()
I am kinda leaning maybe romancing her with a Dalish Mage. Depending on how the romance is writin I think it could be really fun to have a real love hate relationship with Cass not liking I am a mage and me not liking she is a human.
Human Warrior-Marcus Trevelyan, my first Inquisitor and he will romance Cassandra.
Cassandra likes her men hulky, huh?
I hope so. ![]()
