I find it strange that cassandra thinks that way about cole, but i think cassandra at this point in her life after all thats happened is a little more open about some more controversial stuff then she used to be.

I'm just going off of what Patrick Weekes (Cole's writter) said on Twitter.
He described Cassandra, Cole, and Solas as "Team Mutually Respectful Moral and Theological Debate."

Is her VA still the same from DA2? I hope she keeps her DA2 accent.
Edit, nevermind looked it up.. it's still the same person. Yay.

What little we know about Nevarrans suggests that they are more accepting of spirits in general than most other cultures. Cole might seem interesting to her because of his unique nature... a spirit that has the memories of a dead human would be a more than a mere curiosity to someone who comes from culture where a respected order of mages mummifies corpses in preparation for spirits to inhabit them.

Yep. Nevarrans are more accepting when it comes to spirit magic.
Most likely a Necromancer Inquisitor won't have any issues with Cassandra.
It is quite funny when you think about it though. When its done by mana, it is called spirit magic, necromancy and it is somewhat acceptable. When it is done by blood, it is maleficar and Tevinter and Old Gods and evil...lol lol lol...
I know both are different but spirit and entropy (which is what Necromancy specialization will most likely be, a mix of those two) magics share plenty with blood magic.

I think an interesting point of contention between Cassandra and Vivienne will be the fate of Cole (and perhaps similar spirits/demons).
Vivienne apparently wants to banish him while Cassandra apparently has respectful conversations with him.
I know Cass has seen plenty of strange things, heard plenty of strange things and is a Nevarran which means she is more accepting of spirits.
However, it is rather ironic and funny to see a mage being more close minded than someone who essentially is an advanced Templar of sorts when it comes to this issue.
You would think a mage like Vivienne would take the attitude Solas does which is to be accepting and curious.

I don't know about all that... I mean, Dalish mages don't deal with spirits at all, and mages raised in one of the more conservative Circles such as the ones in Ferelden, Orlais, and Kirkwall would have been taught to be wary of spirits at all times. Even Spirit Healers are often viewed with suspicion, and Wynne seemed very concerned about the Spirit of Faith that resurrected her before the Warden convinced her that it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Solas is kind of an anomaly since he has no formal training and thus his perception of spirits developed independently of any cultural bias.
The other thing that you must keep in mind about Cassandra is that Nevarra's mages are granted far more liberties than the mages of Orlais... although both nations are technically under the domain of the Chantry, they seem to be radically different in terms of what is or is not acceptable regarding magic. The Templars of Nevarra are most likely more open-minded than those of say, Starkhaven or Ferelden.

Yes. Fry all the elves!Every elf in my vision will be ripped to shreds!

But honestly, I can't see Cassandra being one of the gated romance options. At least, I've seen no reason to believe that she would be. Outside of being heterosexual, of course.

I don't mind thinking that Nevarra's are alright with Magic, and i can view Cass viewing it as such, without it being a major character break.
I comfort myself this way, by saying at least they aren't rivain.
Those people just need to all die.

The Mortalitasi are related to the Pentaghasts by blood, so their technically family for Cassandra.

Then again, it can be argued that the Mortalitalsi are as much "family" to Cassandra as Markus Pentaghast is "family". In other words, their relationship/influence on Cass is negligible.

I think she's more defined by the Chantry than her family.
Or at least, I haven't seen any indication otherwise. In "marketing" terms, she's like the poster girl of badass Chantry people. It seems the story of the Pentaghast family is minor lore at this point. The writers don't even bother delving into them much. And when Gaider talks about her in his profile, he focuses more on her political and moral issues with the Chantry. Like these are the big story points he wants to touch on.
That said, it'd be interesting to hear more about the Pentaghasts. I just get the feeling she's her own person and follows the Chantry more than family or Nevarran culture.

MD: If the media took things a bit further than is rational, we might dial it back a bit. You might hear characters say things like "According to the stories, I killed seventeen dragons!"
ML: And which character might that be?
MD: That might be Cassandra....
ML: She explicitly calls that out and says that might be a bit much.

To be fair in the movie, wasn't there only one high dragon that got taken out by a pride demon? I thought the other two were just drakes (or are there regular dragons that aren't high dragons?).
Edit: I still want a dialogue to fanboy over Cassandra's achievements like some characters do with the Hero of Ferelden.
There are things like the first comic which are less canon because they're a little bit more divergent and then there are things that we try to keep wrapped in a little bit of a framed storytelling aspect.
Original comics confirmed for "less" canon. Yay! ![]()

And that's probably when Varric and my Inquisitor will be teasing her about being humble and saying it's probably twice that amount. ![]()

New piece of information. Thank you! Now I have this feeling that Dawn of the Seeker will be trated as Varric's or another imaginative bard's reimagination of Cassandra's backstory. That would explain a lot.
