Got to agree there. It is not racist (at least not in the way the word is usually understood and used) to have a preference for what race you find physically attractive. That's like saying every straight person is homophobic because they prefer the opposite sex. Having a preference when it comes to race, or simply not being attracted to a certain race (be it a fictional one or a real world one) is not racist. Period. It may be racial or racially related, but that's a whole other thing.

 

Gay people can't help that they are only attracted to a certain gender, and those who are not attracted to a certain race cannot change that either, so labeling it racist is just nonsensical. I get that we are all about equality in this enlightened and modern society of ours, and I support that 100%, but let's use common sense people. Racism is something serious and we shouldn't dilute the term by calling it racist when someone has a preference as to who they find attractive.

Let's say I walk up to a girl and ask her out.  Let's say for hypothetical purposes I am Asian.  She says no and responds in this manner: "Sorry, but I do not date Asians.  I find them all ugly."

 

How is that NOT racist?

Nope.   racial preferences is not something you're born with.  That's a matter of being worldly or not worldly.

That's exactly what I was insinuating.  That people DON'T choose what SEX they're attracted to. 

People don't get to "choose" what race they find attractive either.

I CHOSE to be worldly.  I CHOSE to not give a rat's ass about race when it comes dating other people.  Anyone who puts that much emphasis on such a shallow thing like skin color (or in this case, ear shape) isn't worth a spittle in my book and may as well be a racist. 

 

The writers of the game claim race-gating was important because it allowed them to weave the story they wanted to tell but I don't view it as such.  I view race-gating as a superfluous restriction that has no place in a game developed by a company that seemingly lauds acceptance of other people and puts so much emphasis on inclusion and fairness.  But oh well, what can ya do. 

 

I went off on a bit of an overly-serious tangent there.  I apologize.  That will probably be my final word on the matter.

What racism? People don't need to be sexually available to every race out there any more than people need to be sexually available to every hair color or every weight or body type, etc.

We're talking about very intimate and personal stuff and it's definitely one occasion where people have absolutely every right to be as nitpicking as they please.

Well obviously you are never going to concede that other people may feel another way so there is no use arguing with you. Not everyone feel as you do. I suspect you will have to deal with that. You find all races attractive, good for you. You find a specific gender attractive. Also good. Doesn't mean everyone does.

 

For example, I can honestly say that I find one or two races in real life not very sexually attractive (to me, I have to emphasise this, this is my preference). Now, that doesn't mean they aren't beautiful to other people, that doesn't meanI would think less of them or treat them differently or feel negatively about them in ANY OTHER aspect other that pure physical attractiveness. I'm not a racist, I've dated people of different ethnicities, nationalities and races, I work in a company that has 16 nationalities among my co-workers. I'd never judge a person because of their race or skin-color or whatever, but still, despite all of this, when it comes to physical and sexual attractiveness, I still don't find one or two specific races attractive. It's not racism, it's racial. Two very, very different things.
