Tywin was a good man, the show really obliterated that though...sort of like it turned Stannis into a raving loon who sacrificed people to fire for failure, rather then treachery.

 

Tywin may have been harsh with his sons but the world isn't going to do them any favors if they have idealistic notions about how it works, Beyond that the dwarf is a hypocrite.

 

He took every thing his father ever gave him, he whined and complained about his house, his name all the while drinking and frittering away the fortune of House Lannister.

 

Tyrion is a pig, a disgusting skid mark westeros.

This is off-topic, so I'll be brief.

The books are so much better then the tv series.

He declared war for his son, he gave him one of the prestigious titles in the kingdoms, he allowed him to act in his stead as hand of the king, he acknowledged his successes, he even visited him after his near death experience in the aftermath of the battle of blackwater, Tywin said straight up, he cared about his family, its name, its position.

 

Crap, even in his post death "dream of Tywin" he wanted nothing but for them to be well off, happy.

 

I find it sort of humorous detractors of House Lannister cite Tywin as a monster, when everything he ever did was for his damn family.

 

He groomed Cersei to be a Queen, He groomed Jamie to be the head of the greatest of the old houses, he made a place for the mockery of life that killed the only person that actually made him warm, i think the fact he sired Tyrion despite the fact he killed his beloved wife birthing him speaks volumes, but that's me.

 

It's a constant reminder, the one woman you love, killed by this disgusting creature, and yet you raise it as a son.

Ugh, don't be one of those who complains about the smallest changes in engine. 

 

I'm not complaining about the engine; in fact, I said it was not /just/ an engine change. I think they made her look much more harsh, and I just don't find her attractive or physically appealing, whereas I did in DA2.  My main issue here is that, yeah, attraction is a part of romance, and if I am to Roleplay that aspect of a game, I'd need to be interested, you know?

 

I mean, graphically, she looks great. Whole damn game does.

People said the same thing about Morrigan. It's just an engine change. Aside from the scars, it's really not that different.
