great pick i wonder if we could ask Cass about kids and what do you guys think she would say?

I think there are several barriers to Cassandra having children. Not the least of which is simple biology. She's in her mid-30s at the earliest, so the clock is ticking if she wants them. The second is that she MAY be addicted to lyrium, which could seriously affect her ability to have children, and possibly affect them in the womb(though it causes no issues for male Templars having kids). The Seekers are still strongly connected with the Templar Order, and are expect to be able to hunt mages. Since lyrium has been retconned into being needed for Templar abilities, it can be reasonably assumed Cassandra has used it, and is addicted to the substance. The second point is up for debate. We don't know if Cassandra has been through the traditional training of a Templar.

The biggest factor is that we just don't know whether having children is something Cassandra wants at all. The fact that she is of noble birth but left to serve the Chantry says that it is not a top priority for her. If she wanted to be a baby-making machine, should could easily have gotten an advantageous marriage to some rich noble with a lot of land and fancy pants. Instead, she chose a life of putting the needs of the Chantry and its people before herself. If she had any desire for children, she has thus far been perfectly willing to put it aside.

All of that being said, I think there are solid reasons for her to want children, too. She's romantic, as stated by Gaider. Typically, children go with romance(not always, I know). The idea of having and raising a child or two may be appealing to her if the right man came along. Plus, the Pentaghast family is in a bit of a crisis right now with providing an heir for the throne of Navarra. The current king is old, has no living children, and his only sibling has no children either. A strong candidate like Cassandra, with her Chantry credentials and military education could be an decent queen if she wanted the job(which I doubt she does). But if she had a child, especially one with the Inquisitor, that child could be an incredibly powerful figure when it grows up.

Overall, I think that Bioware will leave it open for interpretation. Afterall, you could headcanon that Leliana/Zevran had a kid or two with the Warden(though it would be difficult to justify, given a Warden's (lack of)fertility).

I made a little headcanon between Cassandra and the Inquisitor a long time ago related to this topic. Still one of my favorite banters I've done. Captures what I am hoping Bioware leaves room for.

So what exactly is Cassandra's characterization? I only know her for being a hardass in DA2.

Imagine if Jack Bauer worked for the Vatican, slayed dragons as a pastime, and had a penchant for stabbing inanimate objects, books mainly.

Also, CastonFolarus, that was really good.

Wow...that actually describes Cassandra pretty well. The way I've always seen her was like from that one Disney film Treasure planet the Alien cat captain sorta...Then again I could be totally off considering it has been YEARS since I've seen that movie. The only reason it came to mind was thank to Doug Walker's Disneycember.

Cassandra holding her sword at her possible future husband throat, that's one hell of way of starting a relationship.

Didn't Varric say his best friends have tried to kill him. The Inquisitor could be the same way. lol

And there aren't plenty of new arts to post either. But let me try to think of something.

...

Is she more a tea or a coffee person?

So now that we have more information on skyhold where do you think Cass might be and what would her casual clothes are?

Along with some romance books hidden away in the corner.

There's a training ground as well. Barracks are a little too confined for anything involving sword play.

I think Cassandra would drink tea or wine, socially. But I doubt she drinks habitually.

As to where she hangs out, I agree with the barracks. When she's angry at the Inquisitor though? Definitely the training ground.

If only I had the time, I'd love to draw Cass... like one of my French Orlaisian girls.

Also, I had her pegged as a coffee drinker, but that might be my personal bias talking.

I can see her reading a book with her feet on a table, in the barracks most probably.

I think she drinks coffee. Like a cop. Probably just with sugar.

On that note, she kind of reminds me of one of those caricatures of pissed off police captains. Just female.

But thou must! :P

I see Cass more like a tea drinker myself, enjoying a nice cup of cinnamon and clove between two adventures and bringing some to the Inquisitor when they feel down.
