She is not in her late forties, she is around her late thirties.
Either way, she's hot.

How dose her being in her thirties or forties turn you off? Look at her character design. Do you like it? Look at her personality. Do you like it? Then what dose it matter what her age is. Bioware could come out and say she is 90 years old. It would not affect how much I like her.
An eighty-year-old Cassandra could probably kick my ass.
Shes' beating me with her walker!!!!
I admit that Cassandra's age does restrict the ages of my Inquisitors somewhat. I prefer that my PCs and their LIs are in the same age bracket, give or take 5-8 years either way. Once you get to being a decade older, it gets to be too much for me. I'm restricted with Solas too, since he's in his 40's, according to the devs. I may, however, make an exception with Blackwall, since he's closer to his calling than not. Having a young Qunari Inquisitor fall in love with an older man, knowing they won't have much time together could make for a beautifully tragic story. Tears. ALL THE TEARS......
Cassandra, on the other hand? If my Inquisitor is in his 20's, it will feel weird to me. I've get my Cassandramancers at at least their mid-30's.
The wonderful artwork with Cassandra wearing that shiny armor with the golden city in the background really made my day, wow.
Thy art style pleaseth mine eyes greatly!

Same here. I'm making a similar character for Blackwall, only human and my Circle mage I'm going full 40.

Yep. This is perfectly sensible rule. +/- 5 to 8 years is the sort of range that I like. I plan to RP as a male Dalish elf mage in his 25-27 years old, so yeah it does feel weird do be in some relationship with a woman 10 + years your senior.
I will most likely make a male Inquisitor in his early 30s for Cassandra. Most likely a Qunari mage Inquisitor.
I greatly suspect that we're not going to get any more official Cassandra info, which is a shame.
I'm going to take a hiatus from the forums. If anyone needs me in regards to the title or the original post, feel free to send me a PM and I'll pop back in.
It has been an honor, Lady Maria. Hope to see you again.
I still think we should have kept TapDatCass
My MageWardenHawkeInquisitor hopes to patch it up headcanon style with Leliana.
But maybe he and Cassandra will find themselves a better match.
Depends on what she thinks of Mages and SMOTING THE WICKED!
I also am curious how she'll react to my embracing being the Herald.
I have a feeling Cass is going to be extremely unlikeable in the first 20 minutes of the game. It's going to be hard to resist telling her off after she has me arrested and imprisoned.

After that you just give her the cold shoulder until she comes apologizing to you and then you turn on the romance charm to the max.

I've noticed a sort of circle-braid on the back of her head in a lot of the footage she's in... Does she have longer hair than they're letting on?

This has been discussed in the past. A prevailing theory, so I've heard, is that she actually has this type of hair.

The symbolism confuses me.
Why are dead kings offering her gold?

All kinds of symbolism are possible though its likely just an odd nod to the Nevarrian practice of preserving the dead and having necromancers as adviors to the throne.

Not sure about the gold, but the crowns on said kings make me think that they are Pentaghasts, or at least Nevarran.
