How bout they instead give out those codes to those of us that are signed up to take part in the beta instead.  Annoying as hell when game developers do crap like that I think.

I don't think we can say for sure.  Usually, seekers are chosen from the elite templar ranks, but Cassandra was shown to be in the seekers fairly young.  She may have been let right in to the seekers due to heritage, skills, etc.  I also don't think we know if Seekers take lyrium in case of fighting mages.

 

Edit: If the companions use the same specilization that the Inquisitor potentially can, then Cassandra would definitely fall under that specialization then.

seekers ate traditionally chosen as templars at point in their training. It kidda muddy if they have full templar powers

There really hasn't been any indication that she was Templar, she joined the Seekers as a teenage though

Given they occasionally go after mages, it would make sense for them to be equipped to do such.

I applied to the Beta damn near when it was announced.  And I still haven't gotten a code. I feel for ya brother.  I also look forward to The Witcher 3.
