That quote about the books, comic and the movie is interesting, but I'm not sure I'm particularly happy with it. I haven't read any of the books or the comics, and I only watched a third of the movie, and to be honest, I have no intention of changing that. I want to experience DA as a character of my own making, rather than viewing it through the eyes of an already established character. (I do have The Stolen Throne lying around here somewhere, but the chances of me actually reading it are dwindling.)

I hope that they don't have TOO many things referencing them in the actual game. I'd hate to miss out on really important bits just because I don't engage in the extra-reading.

Concerning Cassandra's past love life: It entirely depends on how it's handled. An off-hand mention of 'Oh yeah, there was this mage guy I liked, but nothing ever came of it/we broke up a few years ago' wouldn't bother me at all. But an entire quest or story-arc dedicated to her relationship with Mage Guy? That would probably put me off. I mean, if I were interested in a girl in real life and she kept talking about her ex, I'd probably feel slightly awkward at best and rather annoyed at worst. (Something that actually happened to me. I was on a date with this girl and she kept talking about her last girlfriend. They'd just broken up, apparently, and you can imagine that I realized pretty quickly that things wouldn't lead anywhere.)

In Cassandra's case, I imagine a few years must have passed since then. So her still being hung up on that guy would be pretty weird....or reason to seek counseling, because then it would border on obsession. And if it hasn't been years since then and they've just broken up recently? That doesn't seem like a very good place for a new romance to start.

Don't worry too much about it. I'm guessing its mostly PR.

You never know, Hina, maybe she is, being so pro-Chantry and all?

Do Seekers have any vows?

Hopefully.

But then my hopes for this game haven't had a very good track record.

I certainly don't think that Cassandra's as proactive in that department as Isabela, but we're talking about a period of 19 years here. Even if we assume her job keeps her busy, that's a long, long time to go without some companionship.

Yet millions of people in the world do just fine.

I'm sure they do.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't being somewhat selfish here; Cassandra is far and away the LI I'm most interested in this game, but I am highly put off by the prospect of being someone's first time. I prefer women who are mature, worldly, and experienced.

Like you said, to each their own.

Don't you dare mess with the natural order. I'm sorry that I have to do this but:

Agreed with you there. When I look around my circle of friends, we all seem to do just fine without. People always seem to put so much importance into sex, which I never understood. I've never been with anyone and I don't care if it ever happens or not. I've got way more important things to do with my life. *shrug* (Like argue about fictional characters. :P )

The Natural Order is something to be overcome, Life intrinsically comes with failings, weakness, mortality, It is natural for all things to degrade, to fall apart and die.

Entropy, Overcoming that is no sin.

When I say "companionship", I'm not talking about sex as in the physical act and the physical pleasure that comes with it. I'm talking about intimacy, physical and emotional. And that is a big deal, and is something that is hard to go without for a long time.

Play God? That tired old falliscal trope.

Mankind should and shall be his own Arbiter.

.-.

Not some tired notion of "right and wrong".

Mortality shouldn't factor into determining what is best for a species.

Alright then, I agree. Although I would argue that a romantic relationship isn't the only opportunity for intimacy, be it emotional or physical. Friendship and family can give more than enough comfort, I think.

I mean, I personally don't care whether Cassandra has had no lovers or a hundred of them. It doesn't matter to me, as long as it's evident that her relationship with the Inquisitor is something special. :)

Ah, I thought you meant romantic companionship which around here means lovers mostly. Apologies for misunderstanding.

Since somehow FMA:B got involved with this thread - I hope Cassandra will get just as many badass moments like Riza Hawkeye did. Which would include some moments where she will call the Inquisitor useless :P

I have no idea what you guys have been referencing for the last few posts, but I agree with that last sentiment at least. I would be very disappointed if Cassandra didn't complain about the Inquisitor being utterly useless now and then. I mean, she's the hero of Orlais. I doubt she's gonna be happy with following a virtual nobody around.

Speaking just for myself, you'd be wrong, but to each their own.

And to an extent I can agree with you that the important thing is that the relationship with the pc is special. Like I said, I'm being biased here; virginity is a real turn off for me. Don't ask me why; I don't know why. It just is. And the idea of someone's first relationship also being their last isn't one that sits well with me on a personal or thematic level. They're just not things that appeal to me. And the idea of waiting for marriage is utterly abhorrent to me.

I respect that others feel differently. This is just how I feel on the matter; unfortunately this is one of those situations where there's no compromise. If it turns out that Cassandra hasn't been with anyone else, I hope Hina and her camp enjoy it.

As Milan92 said, she voiced Cassandra's Dawn of the Seeker self.

Hopefully that means Colleen may still voice a character in the games, maybe even a protagonist.

Don't overly care for her VA abilities, she isn't horrible but there are plenty of those better then her out there.

._. She isn't as bad as hale though (One of the best compliments i have ever given a VA)
