To be fair, most of the combat in the Mass Effect series is gunfights so having shoulder length hair isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Have you ever shot a firearm? I let girls shoot my rifles and every time they shot their vision was blocked due to hair getting in their face from the recoil. Long hair is one of the worst things you can have when shooting guns, I've seen it first hand, and that was range shooting, not a frantic firefight.

And boy, should it ever get caught in the magazine well or in the action, ouch.

Long hair might look great (I think its highly overrated though, but thats my opinion) but it sucks everywhere else. Sports, shooting, fighting, climbing, running, camping....

And think about it, Cass is a soldier who travels a lot and sleeps in tents most of the times, she has neither access to hair beauty products nor time to clean it every single day. I have been camping with women and at day three all of them had very filthy, sweaty, disgusting looking long hair. I was so happy with my short hair, some water and I was good to go. Also during a thunderstorm, their hair got wet and it took ages to dry due to the humid cold weather. Hiking with a cold wet head for hours must have sucked. I could dry my hair with a t-shirt in under 2 minutes.

I'm a fan of practical things, there is a lot of beauty in practicality.

Ashley did have long hair in ME1 though she just had it in a different style than in ME3 so it wasn't loose.  In ME3, I don't mind the long hair but did wish she had a seperate hair model for missions so it would be more practical in those situations.  But I also figured Bioware didn't want to waste the resources to have Ashley use two separate hair styles.

Yes, I have shot guns before and do agree with what you are saying about long hair that is loose but if it's in a pony tail or restrained in some other manner then it is fine.  My sister has also fired some guns as well and did it with long hair but she had her hair tied up so it wasn't falling all over the place.

Absolutely. Though for Cass it makes sense to wear it short, she is a professional soldier so she would have to wear it in a pony tail almost all the time and the cleaning issues out in the field remain.

Not to mention it would get really hot under a helmet with long hair, even if she kept it tied up out of the way.

I really don't understand the hate on Cassandra's appearance, she's not first on my list to romance but I'm definitely interested on more of her personality than looks anyway. I'm hoping both her and Vivienne give us the option of having a strong sisterly connection with them. Hell maybe even a brotherly like friendship with males who chose not to romance her but have high approval.

It's not that the jaw makes Cassandra unattractive, as much as the jaw itself is horrendous. On anyone.

So much this it hurts.  There are GOOD examples of prominent jaws on females, and there are BAD examples of prominent jaws on females.  Olivia Wilde has a bit of a prominent jaw.  But with the way she had her hair cut in Tron Legacy?  GOTDAMN did it frame her face so well.  It worked perfectly.  And then there's Morgan Webb....that would be an example of bad prominent jaw.  Cassandra, as much as I love her character and will fawn over her when Inquisition comes out....the prominent jaw just doesn't look right.  I've never been a fan of the change but I've never been vocal about it either because I still think she's freaking awesome regardless.

^^ I love her look. I heard something about it being modified though(?)... meh, as long as she still looks the same, I won't mind. Maybe they decided to chip a little off her jaw, idk... I'll wait and see. If a small adjustment can make more people happy without detracting from her overall appearance, and initial appeal, then cool. Super cool.

To be clear, Allan already found her hot/gorgeous before. So him saying they made her 'hotter' could mean everything.

Knowing Allan it could just mean she got set on fire or something.

I honestly think there is too much focus on Cass's jaw based on one picture of her that is taken from an angle which emphasizes it. If the shot was instead taken from eye-level or higher, her jaw would look smaller. Selfies 101, people :P

Not a bad jaw, she's still amazing.

Ahahahaha oh poor Cass, I bet that's what happened. Do all of the companions have those horrible screams when they get set on fire? :(

You do know that there are several pictures of Cassandra and a demo of her, Viviene, and Varric? Yes?

A prominent jaw is perfect for trailing kisses. From the lips to the chin all the way to the ears.

Is it me, or does the tagline for this thread sound something like rape?

What's with you and wanting to associate literally everything with rape? Are you mad, Xil? You sound mad.

I would like everyone to shut up about the jaw thing now.  It drags on and on and we've all got better things to do than perpetuate it.  Or at least I damn well hope so.

Give it a rest.

Funny, I did look at that tagline and wonder if someone might find it a bit... aggressive... and going in that direction somewhat.  Because it could be seen that way.  I guess no one really does see it like that though.  Ah.  Until now.  Oops.

Really, guys? It's just a cute phrase

Sometimes loves means proving to the lover one's worth and skills, sometimes love is two lovers being almost aggressive towards each other (rivalmance, fanfavourite slap-slap-kiss) and sometimes it just involves drama and arguing

Not every relationship is sweets and candies and flowers, but it doesn't make it automatically abusive

Abusive means hurting and hating and being unkind and forceful, not active and emotional

My Adaar will "storm the Casstle" a.k.a. he will try to prove her that he's a good leader, argue with her and agree with her and just be passionate about his beliefs and their relationship, they will probably even fight but he will never hurt her. Cuz, well, he loves her

I see it more like this: Cass puts up walls around her heart, and storming the Casstle is about getting her to let you inside those walls. It is an intentionally cheeky catchphrase, but it's better than #tapdatCass lol

At first I wasn't too crazy about Cassandra's look.  But then I began to think a female warrior who is decked out in armor and possibly wears a helmet has short hair.  For one, long hair and no helmet allows her enemies to grab her.  Two, long hair and a helmet will make her head hot and sweaty. I agree though a ponytail would be nice, but I like her braid. As for not being curvy, I'm sure without the heavy armor she's pretty curvy.;)

But yeah, when I think Cassandra I think of Brienne from Game of Thrones.  Only Cassandra looks more feminine and is smaller than Brienne.  But yeah, in closing. Cassandra has grown on me over time, I look forward to meeting her, seeing as how I never played DA2 only DA:O.
