I gathered from her comments after the battle with the Arishok she favored those who were strong, had martial strength, people of fortitude and physical skill.

 

From that my own perspective came that she enjoys that because she enjoys being overpowered, she enjoys finding those stronger then her and them then proceeding to prove it, to establish dominance, to use your wording it isn't because she isn't dominant it is because she is attracted to those who can dominate her

to some thats her being romantic, opening up and getting out of her hard shell. Personally id like that she stay stern and sharp even in intimate moments
