I think I'll make Hicks as a human warrior. Very underrated character. If there is one thing I will never forgive 20th Century Fox for, it's Alien 3, and what it did to Hicks and Newt. Unacceptable and despicable. As far as I'm concerned it, ended with Aliens. Happily ever after for Ripliey, Hicks and Newt.

 

Hicks was awesome, he was a lot like Ripley, cool headed smart and good instincts too.  Alien 3 wasn't so bad, sure, just killing off two great characters just like that was a big WTF moment, but the atmosphere and setting of Alien 3 was excellent. I'm a  huge of that gothic-industrial style. If I could I'd rather live in that cool prison complex than here.

If they had made the same movie with characters that were not Ripley, Hicks and Newt, it would have been an enjoyable horror movie romp. Hell, I probably would have enjoyed it if Hicks and Newt were in a coma the whole movie. But to just kill them off in the opening credits. Man, that's just f*cking stupid. The rest of the movie was spoiled by that. All I could do was force myself to watch the rest of the film, just to say I gave it its fair shot. But honestly nothing could make up for what they did to the characters from my favorite movie ever. Yes, I love Aliens that much.

Yeah, I didn't like how Hicks and Newt were dead at the beginning of Alien 3.  Hicks was injured at the end of Aliens 2 if I recall so he could have easily been in the movie and not really affect the plot much since he'll probably be in the med bay and if they really wanted to kill him, they could have done that when he was in the med bay.  Newt was just a child and so was pretty helpless and so it wouldn't have changed things much I think so they also could have her in the movie easily I think.
