Yeah, that person in the image doesn't strike me as Cassandra. Could be, as we've yet to see a recent image of her, but my initial reaction is that it's not her.

It's hard to tell. The uniform tells me it's a guy, but then Cassandra would wear a uniform to a ball. The hair doesn't seem dark enough, but then the light is tricky there. The hairstyle doesn't seem right, but it's a ball so it could be special for the occasion.

 

The angle makes it really hard to tell who it is, but I'm guessing that it's the Inquisitor dancing with Celene. Why would the Camera focus on this pair if the PC wasn't there?  Also this: Look on the left side: there's a guy wearing the same uniform. Red with a blue sash.

It could be the female Inquisitor...  Anyway the uniform is very military style. It reminds me of old Austrian uniforms. I might go for that for my PC.

I'd say she'll be a Seeker, which I imagine is like a Templar.

See that makes sense to me, but her weapons are the Weapon and Shield, so I can't help but think she may actually be a Champion since that's the Tank specialization.

So does Blackwall though and if you look at them both as potential tanks its way more likely that a Seeker, who are usually drawn from the Templar order, would have the templar abilities. Way more likely than a Grey Warden who are usually just tough warriors.

I know Cass wasn't a templar first but thematically, Templar fits Cass better than it does Blackwall and vice verse

Well, Templars can be tanky. I always thought it more logical to run a Templar with sword-and-board. They basically kill mages, and mages used ranged attacks. Seems legit.

Good points. I'm gonna run a Weapon and Shield Champion, because I want to be the main tank. So I'm glad Class is more likely to be a Templar, cause I don't want two Champions in one party.

I would say Templar. The only other option would be Champion, and Blackwall just screams Champion, leaving Cassandra to be the Templar.

I'd say that you can probably build s+s to be quite offensive. I had a s+s Vanguard/Templar/Bezerker in DA2 and he was bloody great. Not as deadly as my 2hander but stayed up a hell of a lot longer and dished out very satisfying damage.

Also I think you can still make her very tanky even if she doesn't have traditional Tank specialisation. We saw in the E3 vid last year that Cass had a lot of Armour Sundering abilities and thats gotta help the back line nukers

She Can use Two-handed weapons as well.
I think champion will be the tank spec andReaver the more offensive spec. Templar is more anti-magic then anything else.

Yeah.  Alistair's specialization was templar, and he was intended as a S&S character.

I'm really interested in how Champ plays out. I'm hoping that it has a buffing line and defensive line as I like the idea of my 2h inquisitor being an inspiration and yeilding bonuses. With Cass being built as a tank that could really work

I am considering going with a reaver build for my sword and shield dalish elf inquistor. I had a reaver/berserker/vanguard build in da2 for both s and s and two handed and i lovethe dps i could get from the former.

Yeah its very easy to dismiss s+s as for tanks only but that just isn't the case, certainty not in Da2. In DAO ... yah maybe.

DA:O S+S were purely tanks but in DA2 you could do as much damage as 2h warrior with cross class combos and the Berserk + Haste combo. I hope they keep the offensive capability that S+S gained in DA 2.
