To be honest, I liked way better that armor she wore at the PAX demo when she is walking with Varric and Vivienne.

Hard to tell as it's a very different angle but if I had to take a punt I'd suggest there's been a tweak.
She looks amazing in that picture, so I'm very happy and looking forward even more to meeting her.

I doubt it was for them. They changed Most characters during development. Her appaerance wasn't probably her final one.Looks great.
And if they tweaked her face a little because of the complainers, then it's a real shame.
And I don't see that many changes anyway.
