The Inquisitor's tabard is oddly appropriate...

I like her sword, unlike most over the top fantasy weaponry it has this practical yet elegant and brutally effective look. Just like Cass herself.

Hmmm....Did they soften Cassandra's face a bit to make her look a bit more feminine and increase the size of her eyes a little? Or is that just due to the picture?

The pictures have been confirmed as art and not in-game models. I wouldn't be worried about it, and I think it's the angle. I believe her cheekbones are still there, if hidden in illusions. We won't know until we see another gameplay image. I do like the sword that people pointed out though.

That's one thing that drives me absolutely nuts in most fantasy games. I know they want to make cool looking weapons, but functional is cool!

I've always been a fan of plain, functional but elegant looking weapons, those look far more intimidating and beautiful than what we usually see in games.
Don't know about you but when I face an enemy wielding this abomination I'll laugh so hard till I die from cramps.

But if he had something like this, then it would be a different story.... and I would totally loot that sword from him, lol.
(This would be a nice sword for Cass btw. )

Oh dear. That first one is just ridiculous. The weight of that guard decoration would completely unbalance the sword and rob it of most of its stopping power. If you want a blow to cut through armor, you need a blade heavy sword so momentum will carry your strike through. If the weight is at the bottom it also makes it harder to deflect blows. What were they thinking?
I'm partial to Viking style swords myself:

I really really hated most of the sword designs in Skyrim. The only ones I really liked were steel and Dwarven. And what was up with that ridiculous ebony sword?
Oh well, I'm glad Cassandra has a no nonsense approach to equipement. ![]()

Depends: back when armor was in style, no they weren't all that good. When firearms started showing up armor was discarded because it was largely ineffective against bullets. Then speed became more important than hacking power and thus thrusting weapons were made. It was more economical metal wise too.

Even then, rapiers were not as useful as actual military weapons. It's not practical enough.

True. Most warfare was done with pikes anyway. Muskets were powerful but very slow and inaccurate. Come to think of it, don't the Qunari have firearms technology? I wonder if Iron Bull will tell us about them... It would be cool to have a couple of cannons. Not sure how useful they would be against dragons though.

I'm always curious at what Square-Enix is thinking when they design the weapons for their games. I mean I really love JRPGs, but...how are you supposed to kill people with those? By inducing too much laughting? ![]()
