I just finished watching Dawn of the Seeker. It was... kinda boring actually. As over the top as it was the action wasn't really engaging.
That creepy mage dude was fun though.

Guys, I need an opinion.
If Seekers, or more specifically, Cassandra, used magic, if any at all, what would it be?
I'm leaning towards Cleansing Aura, because it makes sense and will look cool.
Looking cool is relevant here.
Thoughts?

Spoiler
The animation in general was disappointing I thought. The fights were almost too short, if that makes sense. I felt there was little dramatic intensity. And the dialogue was... eeoof.

Well, if she has the Templar spec it would make sense for her to have Cleansing Aura and Holy Smite. I suspect she would favor the latter. ![]()
holy smite cause its the best anti-mage spell there is offensivly and it strikes fear into allGuys, I need an opinion.

Okay, thanks guys.
Question though, the blast effect, does it come from the caster, or the target?
(I've never used Holy Smite in the game)
I was just thinking: Cassandra is the closest to a classic D&D paladin we've ever got as a companion in Dragon Age. Alistair lacked the piety, Aveline didn't have the piety or the smiting abilities and Sebastian was more geared towards revenge than justice.
Cassandra has it all: a strong faith, a desire to protect the weak, great fighting skills and a sense of justice. Add to that her no-nonsense choice of arms and armor and we've got a pretty neat little package.
Better than whatever this is:

Cool. This should add that special something to my scene. ![]()

Never mind the lip syncing. The text was awkward. I blame TV Tropes and That Guy With the Glasses. During the whole thing I was going 'the pacing is weird', 'the transitions are awkward' and 'what's with all the staring matches?'.
Better than whatever this is:

Heresy!

That's very true. And she should also show that's it's possible to be a paladin without being a stifling, rigid, self-righteous dick too. I look forward to it.

Paladins are blowhards and idiots. I wouldn't insult her that way. ![]()
Seriously, the most stereotypical paladin is the the famous WoW player Leeroy Jenkins. True to form. D&D Paladins aren't that different, if you read between the lines.

Blowhard, "stereotyped" paladins aren't doing a very good job of being a paladin, IMO.

I like the idea of paladins.. don't get me wrong. My criticism is more about how they're written. The piety is often on the cheesy side. And every battle seems inspired by Henry V. "Once more into the breach!"
edit: Funnily enough, my ideal paladin is Joan of Arc. And the people England and Henry V was attacking.
Well, as I said, hopefully she won't be so stereotypical as to be preachy, small-minded and lawful stupid as well.
she's said to have a crisis of faith and is now more open-minded if the charactor interview is to believed. So while she will have palidan traits(return to order) i doubt she'll be the stereotypical rep. Sides with a beautiful face like that it would be hard pay attention XDWell, as I said, hopefully she won't be so stereotypical as to be preachy, small-minded and lawful stupid as well.

I hope it's not a crisis of faith in the way Evangeline went through. I kind of disliked the way she ended up. Pretty much a sellout to her oaths.

Crisis of faith can often times empower ones beliefs. Doubt can serve the faithful. I just hope it takes us to a new place in the series
Fair enough. Yeah, doubt is a good thing. I have no problem with that at all.
I just don't want to see a repeat of Evangeline. Hope it's different.

Your ideal paladin is a country that denies its king his birthright? My boy, no.
