how old is Cassandra?
40? i mean i think she is around 18-20 in Dawn of the Seeker right? and it has been almost twenty years then. is she the oldest LI ever?
Solas is around his mid-40s. Blackwall seems to be in his mid to late 40s.

The origin states you are rasied as a devout Andrastian in a family with ties to the Templar Order. It does not say anywhere that you are "forced" into a career in the the Chantry, either as a Brother, initiate or Templar. All it says is that you are sent to the Conclave - the event in Haven that starts the story - to aid your family. We don't know in what capacity your family is involved in the Conclave or your role in it.
It seems to say you're going in that direction whether you're willing or not. It also says you're forced to go to the conclave whether you're willing or not. Nobles don't really have choices. Especially not the youngest noble. The only thing that puts an 86 on these plans is the Breach.

Miranda from ME 2 was in her late 30-s, I think.

I'm not sure where this idea you are being forced into the Chantry comes from? Are you referring to something not in the Wiki?
The origin mentions that you were "expected to follow a similar career path" in the Chantry and that you're sent to the conclave, "willingly or unwillingly".
This seems to infer that we're not a member of the Chantry, but we've still spent most of our lives being sent to Andraste-camp every summer as a kid and attending sermons every week along with our family, regardless of whether we actually believe in the Chant of Light or not?
My assumption is that if you don't play pro-Chantry, the best comparison would be an agnostic or atheist who comes from a deeply devout family, who's decided it's far easier to pay lip-service to whatever religion they follow, rather than have that awkward conversation where you admit you don't believe any of it?
well, if Cassandra is about 37-38, it is not that much difference.
ps I mean in compare with 35 of Miranda.
I don't think there's any doubt that Cassandra is the oldest female LI, but both Solas and Blackwall strike me as being older than she is.
solas is 40-45 and blackwall is maybe older by 5-6 yearsBlackwall and Solas are probably older.

Agreed, but a Conclave is "a secret or confidential meeting". Its an event, not a career, its not Ecclesiastical College or Templar training school. You are expected to "aid your family" which could just be "make sure your father doesn't get pissed and punch the First Enchanter again" ![]()
Anyway, all I'm saying is you don't need to restrict the age of your HI for RP reasons on the basis that they start the game as fresh meat for the Chantry. As I said, I'm playing a guy who wanted to join the Templars in his youth but was forbidden by his father
"That is a noble choice son, but your duty is to your family first and foremost" kinda deal.

ive heard dev quotes hes looks like their dad and he and solas have "kids these days" moments its a rough estimate tbhI don't actually think Wall is that much older then Solas.
That dev quote is what makes me thinks they're really close in age.ive heard dev quotes hes looks like their dad and he and solas have "kids these days" moments its a rough estimate tbh

Though if that quote is referred to the other companions it'll be strange. Except of Sera and Cole (which as a spirit might be REALLY old), the others aren't that Young.
I'm actually really happy with the more mature cast in this game. Kids always get to save the world.

No, Liara is. She was 106 in Mass Effect 1 and 109 in Mass Effect 3.

I'm just not sure how that would make sense, when your father would want you to join the Templars. But I'll wait and see until DA:I comes out, honestly.

In number of years only, Liara is considered young by Asari standard.

Doesn't matter. The question was "Is Cassandra the oldest LI ever?" and Liara has her beat by several decades.

I'm making my Inqusitor 23-24 who does not believe in the Maker, doesn't want to work for the Chantry, and dislikes the title of 'Herald of Andraste'
I hope my Inquisitor and Cassandra can be friends despite this.

I would have preferred a more even split. The only people under 30 are Cole, Josephine, and Sera.
