I don't really understand this obsession with character ages, to be honest.  Imagine they are the age you want, play that way.  People of all kinds of different ages get together - what does it matter?

I just wanted to illustrate how nicely diverse and relatively evenly spread out the ages are we have someone from every age demographic from early twenties all the way up to mid forties. I really love the age range, and I think there will be some interesting interactions between the older and the younger members

That part of it does make it very interesting!  It's all the "urgh, too old" stuff that's silly.  What's a decade between "friends"?

When I play Dragon Age or Mass Effect, I hardly ever play as a male. When I do, I romance another male, cause, ya know, I'm gay. But seeing Cassandra recently and everything I've seen about her (AND HER GORGEOUSNESS), she may end up being the first female character I've ever romanced in a Bioware game. The fact that she's so strong-minded, especially in the war table scene (I literally swooned over her, after Cullen) is so attractive. Paired with her being a "romantic"... it's hard not to feel crazy about her.

It's a little weird to make up other ages for characters. I wouldn't make up ages for my own real life friends. lol. We're just participants in the story. Not the world builders and gods. That's the writers' job.

 

I like do flexibility with our own protagonist though. Make up as much as you can.

Needless to say, but you might ruin the game that way. If they plan on uploading new data to the Keep, you're not going to want a bunch of wonky info in it. I would just stick to cosmetic mods if I were you.

 

I'm a beta keeper. Mods aren't going to effect your upload to the keep, anything thats modded just won't be detected. It will be as if you skipped having any romance. Of course, you'll have the power to change that and make it so you romance whatever character you wish.

I'm talking about world states for the future games. You could enjoy it for the time being, sure, but what's the point if it doesn't ultimately matter? Why not play something that stands the test of time?

 

The main thing I dislike about this though is when modders get attached to their alternate reality and then cry foul when they're told none of it is valid later. As if it's everyone else's fault.

I've played plenty of adventure mods for DA:O.  The point is to enjoy the game as it is rather than playing it, so that it can be imported into something in the future.  As for the latter, that's unfortunately, the individual person's problem they have to deal with.  Mods are fan-made.  They deserve to be recognized in-game as much as fanfiction, fanart, cosplay, etc.
