I doubt Cassandra would quote the Chant of Light while slaying bad guys, true. But I'd be totally okay if she did.
Well she did it back in DotS. Against a freaking pride demon. On fire.

True, but I tend to view DotS as Varric-mode version of Cassandra's origin story. Who know's how true it is.

I could have been a Pride abomination than an actual Pride Demon lol ![]()

Alright, maybe the demon wasn't on fire. ![]()
Well, in the livestream, Cass is the one that pushes for the Herald thing while Leliana is against it. But then again, it was more because of influence then actual religion.
Hold up. I think you have that reversed. Leliana was pushing the Herald thing, not Cass. I'm watching it now.
Leliana: Even if we tried to stop that view from spreading...
Cass: Which we have not...
Leliana: *looks at Cass for a beat* The point is that everyone is talking about you.

I can guess how the Inquisitor is going to get into Cass's pants now. Just don't go around proclaiming you're the reincarnation of Andraste (do the exact opposite) and she'll fall head over heels for you...Calling it now.

It's because you get an message saying Cassandra disapproves, wich was an result of the Inquisitor saying she hated the title.

Wait, you mean she WANTS you to be the herald? Huh.

Hmmmm, considering Cassandra ended disapproving the discussion (due to, I think, the Dalish protesting about being the Herald), I think it was the opposite. It's confusing. ![]()

No, these lines were from before Cullen even asks what you think of the title. The implication is that Cass doesn't approve of the title, but Leliana sees you as a symbol of hope.

I hope friendships (with anyone) are not that straightforward.

You get an message at the corner of the screen saying "Cassandra disapproves" after the conversation is over. Wich means she disapproves of your dialogue choice. I mean, the Inquisitor only had 3 dialogue options, that were saying hello to the advisors, telling her opinion on the Herald thing and then saying she will find the Chantry mother. I think it's pretty obvious what annoyed Cassandra in that scene.

Thing is though, even with that message, the dialogue didn't read that way to me at all, but now I do see the "disapproves" message. I didn't notice it earlier. Based on the tone of Cassandra, I didn't get the sense that Cass disapproved of that choice.
I actually got the opposite reaction. Cassandra approves of the title but Leliana wants to get rid of it.
Not even Leliana dropped her faith, even if hardened. Becomes more independent, yes, but never abandons the Chantry.
Besides this, I think it sends a bad message.. giving players the power to change people's religions. It's different if someone has a crisis of faith on their own, but I don't think it should be in the power of the player.
I agree. It get a very disturbed feeling at the notion of changing one's religion. If they show interest in yours first, that's fine. But manipulating a crisis of faith or other things to change theirs, no.

My take was that she was irritated with Leliana for not preventing the rumors from spreading. Maybe it will be clearer after we get more context.

I don't know what to believe anymore. lol
I don't want to watch the video (trying not to spoil myself too much)..
I'll just have to see for myself when the game is released and let the chips fall where they will.

Yeah, ^this.

I spent most of the video going, "Ohh, pretty Cassandra! Oh hai, Cullen! Ohh, Josephin and Leliana are pretty!" There wasn't a lot I could glean from the conversations without knowing what happens in the prologue.

She did in DotS. "The righteous stand before the Darkness. And the Maker shall guide their hands!" *slays Pride Demon*

Which is exactly the kind of thing I'd expect her to say if Varric was telling her story. That and wearing an armored mini-skirt.

She isn't preaching there though. lol.. The Chant of Light quote is for her own sake. Not the mage/abomination.
Kind of like "SHAZAM!"
I actually got the opposite reaction. Cassandra approves of the title but Leliana wants to get rid of it.
Agreed. Notice the little (Cassandra Disapproves) thing at the tail end of that segment. Cassandra disagreed with something the Inquisitor said or did. And since the only thing they really said was that they weren't "the Herald of anything, especially not Andraste", I looked to me like Cassandra either believes that the Inquisitor had a divine encounter, or wants her to embrace it to encourage the troops. I'm leaning towards the former.

I'm guessing the Inquisitor points towards the giant hole in the sky and screams as their body starts to tear itself apart. Hella cliche.

Just because Varric said it does not mean it is automatically an exaggeration. I don't think Cassandra is going to be quoting it all day, but I think she will bring in a verse or two at certain times.
