OH FOR HEAVENS SAKE PEOPLE.
Here is the thread, go ahead. Read what Allan actually wrote instead of turning this into something it's not. Decide if he's wrong or right for yourself instead of basing it of what other people say.
Thank you, Ynqve. Having read Allen's statement, I still disagree with him, and I think he's being as close-minded as the people he was arguing with. That being said, I do see where he's coming from. Doesn't affect my dissenting opinion in the slightest, though. Moving on...
To bring this back to Cassandra, the kind of marriage-related dialogue that would have made me happy doesn't even involve an actual wedding. To me, after the initial courting, as well as the (optional)horizontal tango, comes discussion about marriage and children. To me, it's a natural part of the relationship, and at some point, every couple has to have a talk about it. To me, it feels like an incomplete romance without at least some mentioning of it. But it is hardly crucial or even plot-related. So I doubt that Bioware will even touch the topic.
This is the kind of talk I would have liked, however:
Cassandra: Have you put any thought towards marriage, Inquisitor?
Inquisitor response 1(diplomatic): A little. How about you?
Cassandra: I have. And I'd like to be married, someday. When our world is not under such a threat.
Inquisitor response 1(sarcastic): Me, a husband? (Human/dwarf)My family would never believe it! (Elf)To a human? Why, think of the gossip in my clan. (Qunari)Even Tal-Vashoth never consider such things. (All)Me, marrying a Seeker of the Chantry! Think of the scandal!
Cassandra: I've never been one for gossip. I don't care what anyone says or thinks. I love you, and want everyone to know you are mine, and I am yours. If anyone has a problem with that, they can take it up with the Maker.
Inquisitor response 1(harsh): None at all. It's hardly the best time for that kind of thing.
Cassandra: I agree, but someday it might be. Keep that in mind.
Inquisitor response 1(Yes): I'd like to someday. And you?
Cassandra: I would, yes. I'm glad we are in agreement. We can discuss it after....all of this.
Inquisitor response 1(No): I'm not the marrying type.
Cassandra: I said the same thing before I met you. Just...keep it in mind, love.
One little bit of dialogue. That's all I'd like. But I'm perfectly capable of headcanoning my own happily ever after. I've had to do it for every Bioware game since Jade Empire.
