Cassandra :- Bosom & Arse of the Gods....Locked in a metaphorical chastity belt known as heavy armor...
Just look at her...

And the temptation to start with a mage first is rising.
IMO Tevelyan MageQuisitor is the only one for Cassandra. Feel free to object all you like CadaLavellAdaars.
So I finally got around to watching dawn of the seeker and I've got a new appreciation for Cass. She gonna have her hands full dealing with everyone and trying to keep them focused on the goal at hand. I'm also curious see where her relationship with Varric goes this time around.
funny how he was the exact way i live my life(romantically) lolZevran is that you??

That's not an opinion. It's a definite fact.

I'm just not impressed enough with mage gameplay to accept that. It doesn't look bad.. just looks like more of the same from DA2.
As for storywise, I don't know.
I haven't seen any gameplay from anything that impresses me at all. Doesn't really have any bearing on what I choose to play as.

Knight Enchanter?
At least that's what I'll be going with... and since "a" Trevelyan is the only one who can, unquestionably, specialize as a KE (at least lore-wise), it's even more fitting.

It's mostly due to my views on basic attacks. Since DA2, the staff is a main element in their arsenal. I liked it better in DAO when a large amount of spells were your arsenal. They've downgraded the amount of skills available to all classes, but I think it hurts mages the most.
As for what we choose, that's fair. But you said it was a fact. Not choice.
I can't stand the idea of a maqe Inquisitor at the moment. Give me a few months.
All skills are tied to weapon damage. It's all about balancing, apparently, this time around.
As for you enjoying it, nah. You ain't worthy of being a mage anyway.

*scratches head*
What does that even mean?
If anything, I'm very worthy. I like the idea of magical combat drawing on a large pool of spells. The kind depicted in novels, for example. Always with a new trick up their sleeve. Rock/paper/scissors. Not swinging the staff a lot, twirling like a cheerleader.

I don't know anything about it. Whether it's like Arcane Warrior (defense heavy) or if we get weapon abilities. If I just end up with more melee abilities as a warrior, I'll just do that.
I thought Vivienne is already a KE btw..

Nah. Male human mage is too cliche. Knife-wielding rogue Trevelyan, ftw.

This is exactly why you are unworthy.
Anyway, this is a video game about balancing. This is why they took the number of abilities down in the first place. Lore-wise, a mage could take out scores of enemies, at least one of our caliber. There will never be a game like this unless it's only about mages. There shouldn't be a "right" class, gameplay wise anyway.

Being a noble rogue. Yep, that never gets old.
I don't know anything about it tbh. Whether it's like Arcane Warrior (defense heavy) or if we get weapon abilities. If I just end up with more melee abilities as a warrior, I'll just do that.
I think the tree has four active abilities - the Spirit Blade is its trademark move and turns your regular attacks into melee "spirit slashes", then you have the Fade Cloak which makes you invisible, invulnerable and lets you pass through enemies for a short time by basically fading out of existence, and then you have the Focus Skill which is, in this case, the group heal. The final skill of the tree is still unknown.

Objected. Lavellan+Cass4Life.

I'm unworthy because I want more spells? How is that a bad mage? ![]()
Man.. what if I told you I wanted to go oldschool and create my own spells too?
I like the tactical and creative aspect of mages. I'm not into the pew-pew-pew stuff and displays of raw power. It's hard to get right in a game, I admit, but still.

They actually changed mana regen so you get to use talents more often in DAI. Mage also have a passives in almost all trees that reduce cooldown (Inferno even has one that remove cooldown on the next spell used if you critical hit, you just have to get gear that increase critical hit chance and increase mana to spam spells...well 8 of them, but anyway you won't get more than 8-9 active anyway).

Those kind of sound cool actually. I was afraid it'd be sustained buffs and we'd rely on basic attacks.

I think Lore-wise that's difficult to impossible. Making your own spells is a sure fire way to never being able to use any other type of magic for the rest of your life.
