The most epic catfight ever
I think it's safe to say Cass would knock the Prophet off her high pedestal.

Shhhhhh. Our Prophet was the bride of the Maker. She is Pure and Holy!
Right. She's sooner the incarnation of the head of the Ancient Tevinter pantheon than an actual prophet.
Our Lady, who Art of Bullsh*t, Hallowed be thy Name!
-----a reading from Book of Stabbing Things
Thy Kingdom come, Navarra's won, in the Fade as it is in Thedas
Give us this day our daily Lyrium, and forgive us our bloodmagic
As we forgive those who bloodmagic against us
And lead us not into temptation, but delivers us from Varric
For thine is the Romance, and the Seeker, and the Story, forever and ever
Amen.
Never thought a Cassandra thread would give me flashbacks to Catholic school. ![]()
Still, I am very amused. Well done, guys. Reminds me of the Shepard's Prayer parody I did for Mass Effect.
Wait, what's this about Andraste and Shartan being lovers ? I thought they were just comrades-in-arms ? I am not opposed to it but if it is true, it would be..scandalous....to say the least...
Also, Andraste must have been a looker in her day. She was after all, lusted after by the Maker...Whom she cheats her husband with...First possible Spirit-Sentient Romance ![]()
*applauds wildly*
But wait, THERE'S MORE!
The Cass is my Seeker, I shall not want
She maketh me to lie down in green Dales
She leadeth me beside the still spirits
She restoreth my mana
She leadeth me in paths of righteousness for the Maker's sake
Yea, though I walk through the Valley of the Shadow of the Elder One
I will fear no demon, for thou art with me
Thy blade, and thy armor, they protect me
Thou preparest a shield wall before me in the presence of mine enemies,
Thou anointest my companions with buffs, my party runneth over
Surely, Bullsh*t and Bad*ssery shall follow me all the days of Dragon Age
I will dwell in the house of the Cass forever
Amen
The heretical Cassandra scriptures have begun.

In The Masked Empire, Celene sees a play in which Andraste and Shartan are lovers. It might not be true, but there are still parallels to the Cassandra/elfquisitor romance. I suspect that there will be conditional dialogue regarding the Andraste/Shartan situation if the male Inquisitor is an elf.

Oh, that. I actually want it to be true, simply because it would be fun to shove it at the Chantry folks' faces.
"How do you like your prophet being screwed by an elf and a Fade spirit ?" ![]()

I disagree. Cassandra is essentially a maverick. She will go against tradition, duty, and faith if she must.
She's no longer a noble.
She's not a mage-hunter. At this point, she is truly a "seeker of truth" (which is far more complex than simply hunting mages, given the wide range of enemies and obstacles that the Inquisition is facing). She seeks the truth because she wants justice, as impartial as possible.
Her worldview is expanding. Mages are not the enemy anymore (and perhaps never were). People with chaotic intentions, whether they be mage or not, are the enemy.
The fall of the Dales happened hundreds of years ago. Cassandra had no part in it. My Inquisitor is not foolish or petty enough to throw blame at her.
There are plenty of serious Dalish by the way, including my elven mage. The Lavellan clan is supposedly friendly too.
Also....Andraste herself (human) and Shartan (elf) were lovers
Hi Guys,
This is my first time posting, though I'm a long time lurker. It might take me time to get used to how posting works here...Think I might have bungled this quote system a bit. Anyway, well said 90's luke. You are, as usual, very insightful.
Some of the beauty of Dragon Age is the treatment of things like prejudice, and the abillity to look at all sides. Freudian excuses about, but in the end the response to injustice ranges within the denizens of Thedas from "What a monster"(Sister Petrice...and for most, Meredith) to "Well she/he has a pretty good reason..."(Fenris) to "Wow, that person is a friggin' class act"(Bann Teagan). You could apply the idea that social and racial and class distinctions would prohibit a relationship in a heapload of different cases. Basically any elf in the franchise to be percieved as having a pretty good reason not to love humans, whether a Dalish or a City elf. In fact, CityElfWarden(especially female) could be played as having a really reasonable aversion to any interaction with humans, but would it not be cooler to have these aversions overcome? Did anyone ever romance Fenris and find it remarkable that, even though he has all this suspicion and bitterness towards mages, he seems to have no actual hangups about humans despite the fact that Tevinter is a place of human supremacy as well as mage supremacy?
Okay, too many words for one point. It's ordinary, human(or elven or qunari or drarven) to succumb to prejudice, but it's inspiring to overcome it. These characters are more than capable of it, and it might not even be a question for them. Like 90's Luke said, Cassandra already showed signs of being able to look past her personal situational prejudices during her time listening to Varric's story, and you can easily play a Dalish who doesn't find isolationism/true elvhen supremacy at all acceptable for their people.
Cheers. ![]()

OK, this is getting ridiculous.
Cass will kick your ass -- and possibly just kill you -- if you try worshipping her.
So I was wondering...

I like this. The Inquisition having a formal dress uniform for it's people would be great, and help the notion of us taking charge of an organised group as opposed to a load of talented strays. ![]()
I love that dress.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I want to worship her.
With my Dalish First, she'll be a new Creator.

If there weren't pararells being drawn with the Leliana romance, I don't see it happen with Cassandra's. Leliana was far more devout.

I don't think so. Leliana didn't even believe in the Chantry's Maker. She was more individualistic about it, and had her own take. She believed the Maker helps everyone in the present. This is, in effect, a different religion.
So I was wondering...

lolwut?
We don't even know Cassandra's ecclesiastical point-of-views. We only know that she has no issues throwing herself of a cliff because her fate is for the Maker to decide and she has no problem with that what-so-ever.
lolwut?
In DA:O, it can be argued that Leliana is borderline heretical. Her version of the Maker is a bit....different....from accepted Chantry doctrine. in both the White and Black Chantries.
