lolwut?

She believed the Maker is here and now. Helping everyone. That was in her first conversation.

This isn't the Chantry teaching. The Chantry teaches that the Maker left.

She's more like an individualistic Andrastian, with her own take. Kind of like some Christians who come up with their own rules and beliefs.

I don't think so. Leliana didn't even believe in the Chantry's Maker. She was more individualistic about it, and had her own take. She believed the Maker helps everyone in the present. This is, in effect, a different religion.

Andraste was an iconoclast herself in her heyday. The parallel is stronger than you think. And I'm not even that big a fan of Leliana.

Oh, I don't think there aren't parallels. I was only saying she wasn't "devout". As you said, she's more iconoclastic.

She didn't believe in that. Which is pretty obvious during the Fade portion of the Broken Circle or the Gauntlet. She didn't even say that, she just said that she believed the Maker cared about his lost children and wanted Leliana to help the Wardens. She never once said the Maker actually comes and helps people at any time during Origins.

She did. Ask her in the first conversation, when you say "About your vision..."

Then you can get into a small debate about her differences with the Chantry. She totally admits it.

Further, it comes up again after the Sacred Ashes quest and she comments how inspired she was by the experience. You can question her why she even believes in any of it, since her beliefs are so different than what Andraste preached. She gets a little mad about it, because it's contradictory.

She believed he was a real presence, working in the world. Like the God of Christianity.. an interventionist god, in all of nature, in the air, helping.

The Chantry has more of a Deistic version of God. A Creator who decided to bail out. Or was coaxed out of hiding once, because of Andraste. Leliana otoh believes he's both a Creator and a steward of that creation.

I'm looking at the dialogue right now, and I'm not seeing what you're talking about. She just says the Maker is there and she can feel him. What did you say exactly? PM it to me, though. KInd of OT.

I don't want go too offtopic, but I'll just state it here. Basically, she believes in theism. An interventionist god. An abiding presence, who wants to help of his own will. That isn't the Chantry teaching, which you can point out to her. Maybe the option is "But you must earn the Maker's blessing"?. She says she knows that's what the Chantry thinks, but she knows what she feels and no one can change it.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it btw.. I'm just saying theologically she's different.

edit: The Guardian also points out her different beliefs, I think. And says the Maker left. Might want to check that.

Anyway. Theological debates aside, what is Cassandra's opinion on the 'Herald of Andraste' title we pick up? Does she genuinely believe it was Andraste, or does she see the potential it has in rallying the common man/woman in supporting the Inquisition.

She is more of a soldier than a noble, so it's likely she could wear something akin to the Inquisitor's formal attire. Personally I want to see her in a dress.

I don't think that's known until we play.

And I find it might be a big part of her character.. it's probably something they don't want to spoil.

My guess? A little bit of both. I'm sure that she's willing to admit that there is reason to doubt whether or not it was Andraste in the Fade. But if the Inquisition reinforces the idea that it was, it will help their cause. So, from her point of view, there's no reason to deny it. At least not publicly.

I'll just guess that if anyone IS going to believe it, it's Cass. From what I can tell in the vids, Viv and Solas sound iffy and indifferent about it. But you can only have so many people with that opinion. Someone is going to believe, some will be indifferent like them, some might laugh or be hostile to it.

Laura Bailey as Boss + Pierce singing this was my favorite scene from SR4. I reloaded my prior save just to watch it again. Sorry for off topic, but... good times. :)

Hmmm....maybe a hymn? I'm thinking "Andraste's Grace" or "Battle Hymn of The Free Marches". Ooo, how about "Rock of Mages"?

Her marketing tag is The Believer.

Which should make it quite interesting if you play the IncompetentQuizzi and fail to lead.

But it's not glorifying war with demons or anything? The entire subject is to glorify. No one needs to learn the harsh brutal lessons of life from their entertainment. I'm all for realistic people, but the second a party member that I center a team around dies in an instant for no reason but just because war is bad, the game's gone a little too far.

War isn't bad, its unpredictable, sporadic, chaotic.

Experience, Training, Equipment, all of these things prepare and arm you for it but it doesn't remove the risk, the danger.

I won't call on my own experiences for explanation but let's say a heavy Orlesian cavalry division descends upon the Inquisition from the flank forces while they are doing a charge upon a fortress.

Would you not expect your forces to take horrendous losses because they cannot form a pike or spearline?

There's no point in fighting the Orlesians at this stage. You'd get your ass kicked. The Inquisition is a small core group with a small standing army. Afaik? And why would they fight nations anyways? I don't want to say they're merely covert or religion based, but it's got limited application. If the Inquisition expected conflict with Orlesian, they're better off using Viv, Leli, and Josie. Not an army.

Orlais would crush the Inquisition. We would be stupid to even attempt that. So to answer your question

I would expect my forces to kill me and find a more competent leader.
