Orlais likely would just need to send one legion of Chevaliers to retake the province.

The last time the Dales had a standing army and still ended up losing once Orlais actually took the conflict seriously.

 

Orlais has a standing population that likely outnumbers every elf in Thedas; Now assuming they only conscript half a percent of that, you would likely see what is a half a percent of around four million?

 

20,000 or so i'd guess, because a percent would be around forty.

 

So yeah.

 

That's just the random rabble they can pull off the streets, hand weapons and armor too and tell to go kill for their empire.

 

Not their standing armies and chevaliers.

 

Whole nother ball park with those.

 

See that's the difference between the elves and Orlais.
