The picture I posted is photoshopped btw. She looks less good in the actual footage.

But Ashley wasn't that important, Liara was

Still she was marketed as the straight romance. She was even in trailers, posters etc.

The fact that Liara was the 'important' one, doesn't make me feel better.

Yes, they seem to have a serious habit by making the first 'important to the story' characters straight. Ugh.

Hey, keep the faith. This hardly means Cass is straight only.

Marketing should be never be taken at face value tbh

I will say that thus far, Cassandra's place in the promotional doesn't seem to have anything to do with her being an LI.

Exactly. She is showing up alot because she is simply a very important character, but that doesn't automatically make her straight ;)

I'm trying. D:

Bioware's history, when it comes to 'first lady face' as straight romance, tells me otherwise. :/

Except Isabela but we already knew she was bi from DAO. If DA2 had different romance route and not the all bi, I would bet my left leg the first lady would be the straight one.

Edit: ah well, i'm just worried is all. >.<

Going back to DA2, Isabela was the marketed LI, and she's as straight as a slinky.

Cassandra have good grief management (or keep everything inside to build up the Anger). I can see Leliana having the most issues here, but it's possible both expected it in a way as well (going by plan B existing).

There will be small start of game spoiler after this point.

I really like the fact that an interview confirmed she brings up the "lets reform the Inquisition" idea (aka plan B*). I can't wait to see how she threaten the PC who don't want to go along with it. I'm kind of hoping for a "Game Over" scenario in that case (if the PC do not work on closing the Breach, it will destroy everything so, yeah, game over). It also mean she is the 2nd in command, makes me wonder if romancing her is going to be sort of like being mom and dad of the Inquisition.

*Last year I theorized the exact same thing, including Cassandra doing it behind the Chantry's back, but my ideas were dismissed. Currently, my guessing DAI's plot is at like 99% success rate. It's really scary and you don't want the rate to keep up that way (I will laugh if it does).

It's scary, after reading the Ausgamers interview many of my guesses were proven true. Ok, after the leaked survey it wasn't difficult to guess some things, but still, it's going to be an interesting ride.

Still wondering about how Cassandra will let the PC become the Inquisitor. Or better, how Cassandra will force the PC to become the Inquisitor. She has this "hypercompetent right hand" vibe on her, including not allowing her boss to slack off.

It doesn't... yet. Wait for DA:I's launch trailer. All DA and ME launch trailers have had a snip from a romance scene (Morrigan in DA:O, Isabella in DA2, Ashley in ME and ME3, Miranda in ME2). Of course, that's just what marketing wants to show us, so it doesn't mean anything about plot or sexuality.

But DA2 is the odd man out so to speak, due to its all-bi romances. DA:I won't follow that route IIRC, so I think whoever the marketed LI will be has a good chance to be male PC only.

@misticsan

Im kind of curious too on how she, a badass hand of the divine, just lets some no name person just become the leader.... I mean they did it in origins and even pointed it out....  But for someone of her personality, i dont see how she couldnt take the reigns herself....

Is Cassandra actually a good leader though? She is efficient but also brash, impulsive and quick to anger. I do love her, but I'm not sure she would be the best to handle a position of leadership.

I'm going to laugh if she is only into ladies and both Galyan and Varric wasted their charms on her... (ok maybe not that much for Varric).

I personally do not have a preference, I play both gender PCs and I base my romance choice on the "less annoying one" available (personal taste). I tend to prefer friendship anyway.

I keep saying that she is going to be pushy and bossy.  I also think that you get to be the Inquisitor because you can close the mini-breach, not because you are a competent leader.

Also, I get a "I only serve" vibe from Cassandra. I think she see herself as being meant to serve, not rule because of reason(s) (that are not "I hate to rule", sorry Alistair we already had you). It could be as simple as being raised into that ideal in the Pentaghasts clan (everyone serve the main branch kind of deal).

I dont find Cassandra bossy, so much as "im like this because i have to be" she is not only a seeker, she is a hand of the Divine, a Petaghast of Nevarra, and a Dragon Slayer, and the Hero of Orlais. i also think when we finally have the Koolaid Moment of breaking through her wall she puts up between the Inquisitor, we'll find out that she's actually scared of all the pressure put on her.

I agree with you. Still, I want to know how the scenes will play out. After all, DA:O managed to justify it pretty well. I wonder what kind of justification they will use. I mean, Regalyan had to go through a lot from the "Nevarran hello" to earn her trust. I'm thinking Leliana may help in that regard.

Talking about Regalyan, I have an idea: what if he was among the dead by the blast? It would justify why he isn't in the game while acknowledging him, it wouldn't sully his memory (he was part of a peace delegation in that case), and would add another layer to Cassandra's sorrow and her initial distrust of the Inquisitor.

but that was a long time ago, did they even keep up the romance? is Regalyan Pro Circle, or Anti? alot of questions could be asked.

I also had that idea and it made me *sniffle* a bit. He was like the only sane mage in Thedas beside Wynne but funny at the same time, everyone should feel the lost, not just Cassandra.

Although, Cassandra is sort of used to lose close ones to magic...just one more on the list. Thinking about it, becoming Cassandra's friend does have a deadly cost.

Cass: We...we shouldn't. People who get close to me, they get hurt.

Inquisitor: Remember how we met? I doubt those close to you are at any greater risk than anyone in my general vicinity.

Cassandra seems more like the slam-against-a-wall-and-ravage-them type than the hesitant, awkward, and/or shy type.
