Not that I know of. She must've received it in the past year (I think DA2 takes place a fictional year before).

edit: correction, 3 years before

DAI start a couple of weeks/months after the interrogation (which is in 9:40 and not when DA2 ends in 9:37).

Last Flight starts in 9:41 and ends in 9:42. There is never any mention of something resembling what is going on in Inquisition occurring in the south. I would say that Inquisition will start sometime in 9:42, or late 9:41 at the absolute earliest.

What raging monkey said, The Last Flight takes place from 9:41 to 9:42 so.....I assume DAI is in 9:42 or we got lore inconsistency.

If you look at the date on the first chapter, it says 9:41. The last chapter is dated 9:42. I'm not sure when it shifts to 9:42, though.

I think a giant hole in the sky would be pretty apparent, but otherwise, sure.

One of the streams had Varric mention that he's been stuck in Cassandra's custody since his interrogation in Kirkwall?

Personally, I can understand why he sounded a little annoyed if DAI does take place in 9:42? Turns out that she got her own back at him for lying several times to her in DA2, because what he actually meant when she released him was;

"You are free to go... on the provision that you follow me, while I drag you across Thedas for two years!"

:lol:

people will find a way to deliever messages at a good speed. Pony expresses throughout history is one example, as are the ravens in westros. I am curious to know what they use as the most common way for messages to travel quicker.

We aren't talking about someone in South Thedas sending the protagonist a message by express delivery about what is happening in South Thedas. If the protagonist do not hang around populated areas and talking to people, the chance of getting news from far away lands is very low.

As far as timeline goes, the official site says that Cassandra arrived in Kirkwall looking for Varric in 9:40 Dragon, which is three years after Anders blew up the Chantry and less than a year after Lord seeker Lambert led the Templars in dissolving the Circles and the Mage-Templar War got into full swing. Varric and Cassandra have traveled to the peace summit in Ferelden together(Cassandra more willingly than Varric) since then. Apparently the war is widespread enough that they are both carrying new facial scars. I think we can assume that they have not traveled as fast as possible. It's wartime, it probably took them a few months. More if they didn't use ships, but the chances of that are slim.

I've yet to see any evidence that DA:I takes place in 9:42, as some seem to be thinking. It's either mid-late 9:40 or early 9:41 by my estimate. If so, there does not seem to be that much of a lore inconsistency.

its more because of last flight that draws the time issue

According to the wiki, that books takes place in 9:41, and the 'present day' parts of it only happen over the course of a few weeks or months. From this, we can assume that by the time the Breach occurs, it's far enough in 9:41 that messengers would be unable to bring news of such a cataclysmic event in the Anderfels by the time the book ends.

So the beginning of Dragon Age: Inquisition takes place ~1 month before or after Last Flight, and up to half a year or so after the end cutscene of Dragon Age II.

I'm not getting a 9:42 Dragon date anywhere from this. Just curious where people are pulling it from. Probably from the "It's been ~20 years since DotS, which took place in 9:22 Dragon" thing we have when we have out bi-monthly 'Cassandra's age' debate.

Speaking of regular events, when's the last time we talked about Cassandra's build while posting MMA fighters we think she should look like? I haven't seen a Gina Carano pics/gif for at least a hundred pages!
