A few more days til launch. Then there'll be something worthwhile to talk about. As Brother Burkel once put it, "Andraste teaches us that Patience is the child of Wisdom". Just hope it doesn't devolve into mindless swooning. That's pretty sad coming from grown men. I'd take the fantastical race wars over that.

 

Hate to break it to you, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna be mindless swooning. :S

 

Though I'm sure all the screenshots that'll be posted of Cassandra with various flavours of Inquisitor will bring it right back to this point...

"(Disgusted Noises)" was my favorite part of the italian video. Imagine Cass just going (DISGUSTED NOISES) at everyone, and if you have an inquisitor who romances her, he's like the interpreter.

 

In less than a day, through a few random previews we have seen her use it at twice early on in the game.  I think we are going to need a "disgusted noises" counter along with the "sigh" counter.

 

Also, the "disgusted noises" might be Cassandra's disapproval groan. If it's not...

To be honest, you should have to be a templar Trevelyan to romance Cassandra. 

 

That's inconsistent with her character arc. She's moving forward as a person, not regressing.

The thoughtful character analysis might come after the mindless swooning is done. Hard to do both at once.

Because all of the people in DA:O were train wrecks in one way or many.

Drama wasn't the problem. A game where Wynne is the most normal has way more to its name.

Cassandra: All right, cut this crybaby bullsh*t. When the Player reloads this save again, you've got to go back in there and kill that dragon, like He/She told you to. A bug isn't going to save you this time, so woman up and do it!

Cassandra: *sigh* Listen....Dragons are not so hard to kill. By level 20, you won't even remember why they were so hard.

Cassandra: Yes. Inquisitor, I've been around for ten of the Player's playthroughs. Every time, the previous Inquisitor had moments where they questioned the Player's actions. Wondered why He/She decided to romance Iron Bull and not Jospehine. Why He/She chose to make this a mage playtrough and not a templar playthrough. Each of the ones before you learned to cope with the choices made for them. The actions they were forced to take. And soon enough, they made peace.

Inquisitor: How?

Cassandra: By showing the Player they surrendered to His/Her will. The moment each of them did so, they found their true purpose.

Inquisitor: And what was that?

Cassandra: To show the Player just how awesome this game is.

Inquisitor: Sounds hard.

Cassandra: No one ever said this job would be easy.*Cassandra leans closer, offering her hand* But I'M telling you it's going to be worth it.
