I don't think she's ignoring the past. She's beginning to understand it better. She's been surrounded by the illusion of Chantry doctrine for decades.

 

The events of DotS and DA2 have shown her the world for what it really is. She is now able to see the truth behind it all.

So, if I understand you correct, (otherwise correct me):

You mean that because she have a "liberal" viewpoint when it comes to romances, she is ignoring the worlds history?

Because if so then I don't understand why the past of everything/everyone else should stop her from look forward. she MAY had a bias against every other race, or she didn't.

She DID have some problem with mages (especially blood mages), but she seem to have moved on. (probably not about blood mages but who cares about them  )

The truth of the matter is that regardless of coddling, of love, and respect magic remains dangerous, the Qunari remain an active foe, Elves still cling to delusions of equality and dwarves still seek to profit.

 

My point is that the balance of the world is what it is; Her choice in romance is not my concern.

 

My concern is that, some seem to think that choice is anything more then an aberration, that's its evolution.

Her old beliefs were not consistent with her personal objective, which is to bring bad people to justice and preserve order. She was essentially experiencing cognitive dissonance. If she had continued down that path unhindered, she might have regressed further into petty and ignorant bigotry.
