That is what I like about the specializations we have now...All of them are powerful in their own way and do not trump one another..at least from what I have seen so far..That is balance...

Unlike DAO where Arcane Warrior was downright the best specialization and things like Shapeshifter was crap...

Blood Wound says hello!

I agree that specs are more balanced..
Though blood mage was powerful, and SH really useful.

Blood Wound says hello!

Blood Wound does not work on creatures without blood. Arcane Warrior works on everyone and everything.

Powerful does not just mean damage, it means overall damage....

To clarify, my Surana warden was a blood mage but it is not the most powerful specialization...There were numerous enemies without blood and blood magic does nothing on them...

I made him and RP-ed him as a blood mage after learning the potential of blood magic and taint magic from the Avernus mission and from drinking his alchemical vial...Which means he can use mana, blood and taint...

I will make my Magequisitor a Necromancer after learning the potential and flexibility of the class...Being a lich, a summoner and a mind manipulator...Necromancer can fear, raise dead and come back from the dead himself...Yeah, totally awesome...

If there was PvP, Templars would kick the **** out of arcane warriors. They rely on nothing but sustains.

What could i contribute to that?

I rolled Mage maybe...twice in Origins.

But that said Templar Spec owns any Mage Spec simply because it can you know: Turn the Magic off :P

Entropy is gone though, isn't it?

That was like the bulk of my utility magic right there.

All the remains of Entropy is in Necromancy. Horror is the main "entropy" theme though for it.

Aight I think I got it down. Knight Enchanter who'll use the Ice Armor passive to get up in the faces of my enemies. Stoic badass that uses Winter Stillness to recharge the Spirit Blade. Barriers when charging and Mind Blast to get them off me when the mana is low.

Yep. One must remember that Theodosian Necromancy is not equal to Tamriellic Necromancy which I why I think some people see Necromancy in DAI as meh. Its not, it is just different.

Necromancy in Tamriel is about raising the dead, Mannimarco, Molag Bal, the undead and skeletons and ghosts, manipulation of death and disease...

Necromancy in Thedas is about spirit communion, mummification, treating the dead with respect, using lich powers to teach and to communicate...

Theodosian Necromancy is far more grey and benevolent as opposed to the typical Necromancy we see in fantasy games...

Also, Necromancy & Cassandra are related...Since she is from Nevarra and we learn Necromancy from a Mortalitasi...

Spirit tree: Mind Blast, Dispel and Barrier

Storm: Static Cage, Lightning Bolt (secondary paralysis effect)

Inferno: Flashfire, causing the fear effect in general due to burning from the spells in the tree

Winter: passive with an AOE freeze whenever your Barrier drops, Fade Step for moving around/dodging, Wall of Ice for controlling the battlefield/blocking archers, Ice Mine with it's single target freeze and armor debuff when upgraded...

There's a bunch of stuff I'd class under "utility", but obviously YMMV. They're also spread out over the trees.

Try telling that to a Dunmer. They'll kill you then display your body for everyone that tries to stop them from worshiping their ancestors through necromancy. As much as I love Nevarra, Morrowind did it first and probably better.

They actually stopped doing that pretty early in the 3rd era.

They cremate their dead now i think.

Lol. True enough & Dunmer is my favorite race in Tamriel as well.

Their snarkiness as sarcastic elves is on a whole new level compared to the Dalish. The Dalish only have shemlen...The Dunmer have N'wah, S'wit and Outlander...

Not really. That stopped temporarily because of the Red Year. A volcano destroying 3/4 of your country tends to put traditions on hold. And now that Tribunal worship is all but illegal and Morrowind seceded from the Empire they'll be practicing the old ways more fervently than ever.

Yep.

I have a thought. Since Dark Elves are ashen grey in color...Can we have an equivalent on Thedas if a Qunari mates with an Elf ? Just wondering...

Elf genes are, apparently, very moldable. Breeding with another species that they can actually breed with seems to produce something of that species with little to no elven influence on appearance.

So technically a male Qunari that breeds with a female Elf...could produce a half-breed that resembles Dark Elves...

This book was written by an unknown scholar as a guide for foreign visitors to Morrowind shortly after the Armistice was signed. Many of these practices have since fallen into disfavor. The most obvious changes are those regarding the practice of Necromancy and the Great Ghostfence. Dunmer today regard Necromancy upon any of the accepted races as an abomination.

Okay book published right after the war between the Empire and Morrowind in the early days of the 3rd Era.

Those practices were still evident into Dummner occupied Solstheim in the Fourth Era.

o.o

Except for the part that we're not sure on whether or not Qunari can breed with any of the other races.
