It doesn't move forward until after you finish with the Seekers. And considering that "Mage-Templar nonsense" is a part of the MQ, and baring you from this, that's why.

Open question here:

Will siding with the mages and not conscripting them make a romance with Cass effectively impossible, or does it just need a bit more to get it to work from there on?

 

I've managed slight to full approval on pretty much all of the things I've done with her so far (I may have flirted with her once more than she considered proper, but aside from that, it's been smooth sailing all the way).

 

I'd prefer to not pull a Dragon-Age-2-Friendship-Meter thing and subsume my morals and goals just to get her to like me more by working with the Templars.

I'd not be totally opposed to working with the Templars, but I'd prefer to go with the mages, at least this first time around, if possible.

How will the romance with Cassandra go if I'm pro-mage and tell her that I'm an atheist? I've still not decided whether I'm going to play as a male or female Inquisitor and that's how I would intend to play my Human Noble warrior if I did decide to play as a male; I want to know if the romance will go well (or if it's even possible).

From what I can tell the mage-templar stuff stops being relevant once you choose your side so the disapproval should be offset by later actions. In fact, apparently she gets major approval if you take her along when you gather the stuff for her companion quest so if you manage to avoid any other disapprovals, it should be smooth sailing. I'm planning to be a pro-mage qunari mage who doesn't accept the title of Herald and I think I've got a good chance of romancing Cassandra.

And thats why I love Cass. Her motto really is "Justice above all". She believe in doing whats right over blindly following Dogma which is why even if you don't believe in the maker you'll probably still believe in Cass and wish other Chantry followers would think like she does.

 

Also, anyone who read Asunder knew that Lambert was dead. It all but spelled it out for you. And as I guess, turns out the templars are being led by a different lord seeker in this game. Shocker.

It definitely makes her my favorite romance. Although, she was already. Sadly won't get my hands on the game for awhile. Want to replay Origins and DA2 to completion for the first time, gonna save up for a PS4 in the meantime. No way am I playing this last gen, want the best possible experience I can get.

Turns out that Galyan was the ONLY other man she been with. I suppose it makes sense, shes been a full time seeker/right hand of the divine most of her life, not much time for romance. And shes so serious she probably scares most men. Hmm, shes not really experienced with love.
