Well, I don't see it as a one time thing and I doubt it was ever made public. Think how scandalous it would have been if word got out.

You are aware that nothing prevent this, yes? Pretty sure Templar and mage relationships are pretty common. Don't see why a Seeker and a mage would be any different.

Unless I'm missing something I highly doubt Templar/Mage relations are common, and even if they are, the one I'm personally aware of is pretty illicit.

Cullen mentioned that Templars and Mages do not communicate usually to prevent the Templars from developing any sort of feelings/hesistating when the mage turn into an abomination. So i guess Templar and Mages relationships while not uncommon are always secretive and ilicit.

They're discouraged. They aren't forbidden. Sure it's not as common as walking outside and talking to Random Jane, but it happens.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the romance seen for her...... I was so used to the romances in the previous installments, when I saw full on Cassandra boobs..... My eyes about popped out of my head haha

 

On a more serious note, Cass is so adorable!! She's such a hopeless romantic

I doubt it's common, a Templar has too much to lose if they're considered a Mage Sympathizer (they will NEVER be promoted beyond Grunt if they're sleeping with a Mage). As for a Seeker they have to be shown impartial in carrying out their duties and I doubt Cassandra could realistically pursue a romance with a Mage out in the open. I'm sure there were rumors but nothing more.

I know it was meant to be a sentimental moment to show the value she puts on the relationship but I found it kinda funny when she brought up her dead lover.

Had the book talk with her at Skyhold and afterwards some other scene which ended with them standing by the window, sort off holding hands.

Is the romance supossed to initate there? Because at some point the dialogue option "I hope we can be friends" appeared.

Its a bit confusing as to wether I messed up the romance or not. She did gave me a personal quest where she wants to take down a few characters in certain area's.

I'm actually scared of siding with Mages with my mage inquisitor worried for her disapproval. Then again, how can she now fall for this handsome devil? I want to romance Cassandra as I actually like her character. She is a lawful good/neutral character in D&D terms and that is where I am inclined. And I like tough chicks. I was very sad Aveline wasn't an option in DA2. 
 
How far into the game is the Mage-Templar thing and where is it? I'm level 4, just encountered the revered mother in the hinterlands and went to Val Ro Youx (spelling?) to met the #%^hole that is Lucius. Stopped there last night.

Cassandra can approve/disapprove regardless of your choice in mages or templars. It depends on (spoilers on the choices ad the end of Both quests)

of What you decide to do with mages or templars at the end of their quest (To be clear, you can only pick one quest). If you make an alliance with the mages she greatly disapproves, if you conscript them in the Inquisition she greatly approves. The opposite for the templar quest.

Turns out that Galyan was the ONLY other man she been with. I suppose it makes sense, shes been a full time seeker/right hand of the divine most of her life, not much time for romance. And shes so serious she probably scares most men. Hmm, shes not really experienced with love.

 

Going by all the poetry she's really experienced by the idealized concept of love.

 

Also, she's kind of a walking curse. Most guy probably tell themselves "lol nope" after learning that pretty much all the people she is close to end up murdered..usually under her eyes.

 

So I might need some help with her romance.

I believe you need to do her personal quest to really get it going. I'm not there yet though (re-startitis issues).

Yeah, I just got to Skyhold and did all the companion scenes there for the most part.  Loved the hilarious scene with Cassandra reading Varric's books and then getting her an advanced copy of the next one.  Was hilarious to see her fangirl over Varric's book like that. lol

I'm surprised with how well Cassandra and Cole get along. She's kind of like a grumpy big sister.

One of the banters you get if your not currently in a romance with her has Cole asking who Regalyan is and asking why she was thinking about their relationship before Cass cuts him off.

Cole also picks up a memory of her and Anthony sharing a pastry and offers to steal one from the kitchens to cheer her up.
