I keep making false starts in this game.. haven't gotten far. The DA Keep keeps me rethinking my world state too much.
I'm totally settled on class choice though.. partnering with Cass with my 2H warrior. Two warriors works great in this game (playing Hard difficulty). Usually this set up would be redundant, but not here.
She's already my favorite character gameplay and story wise.. I hope they don't screw it for me. lol
Got the Romance scene it was worth it in the end but it was ruined by that ****** bug that makes character stare and not say their dialogue.
I have to say, my opinion of Cassandra has deteriorated somewhat in this game. Or rather, the handling of her.
First, they make pretty much pretty much every single joke about her on the forums to be facts.
Second, they make the Cassandra/Gaylan thing which was a chaste kiss into an actual affair.
Third, she is ready to get into bed with someone else only a few months after the love of her life for decades is killed.

What about the one where she's a dude?

The fact that Cassandra is a normal healthy human being is a problem?

When did she ever say he was the love of her life? She said she was involved with him, and might have had regret in how it ended with Cole's dialogue.
You need to calm down, tbh.
I have a question not necessarily romance related. Does party banter affect her approval? When I was in the Hinterlands, I noticed Sera and Blackwalll talking, and suddenly "Cassandra slightly disapproves" popped up on my screen. It was a bit of a pain, because I wanted to romance her, and reloaded a previous scene. Has anyone else had this happen?
Did a result of a war table mission happen to be completed on screen at the time? I think maybe that could have done it? I'm not sure about banter, though.
Wait, war table missions affect her approval? Seriously? Now, that I think about it, it did mention something about Josephine having a reward for me at the war table, but I can't even remember what mission it was. I was just trying to plough through missions, and it sucks that Cassandra's approval might be affected by war table matters. Can someone please tell me which war table mission affect her approval? I was hoping to have my Inquisitor romance her.
I'm not sure, was kinda speculating. I just thought I noticed approval change upon a mission completing at the war table. Could be wrong, though. I'm hoping to romance her, too. There was a mission

Well, I guess that's a spoiler for me. Oh well.
The only thing that disappoints me about hearing about Galyan is he's kind of the same nervous and witty Xander from Buffy type of character I'm getting tired of seeing (like Rhys and Alistair). Why are these hot Templar/Seeker chicks like Cass and Evangeline hooking up with them. They're not that cool.
He's still one of good mages though.
What about the one where she's a dude?
I forgot about that one and edited.

I never said it was a problem. I said it lowered my opinion on how her character was handled. Yet another case of a chaste token of affection is turned into "They totally sleep together later" thing. I've seen it in lots of media and don't like it but was hoping Cassandra would prove an exception. Sort of like how hoping for two bisexual/homosexual women to just be platonic friends and not lovers yet the majority of the time are.

The fact she is a romantic who wants that kind of relationship and the way she says it in the dialogue when she brings it up give that impression.
To turn that around, when does she say he wasn't the love of her life before meeting the Inquisitor?

I am calm. One can be disappointed while being calm. They aren't mutually exclusive concepts.

The chaste token of affection was your interpretation of what happen not what actually happened
Third, she is ready to get into bed with someone else only a few months after the love of her life for decades is killed.
And for all we know they broke up a long time back but remained friends

I think Gaider has a thing for Xander. That must be it. And that's why it's written in for Cass too. It must be the kind of guy he likes. He does it often. Carth was another one.
Ah well.

When people show attraction for each other, stuff happens. Everyone doesn't think like you do. I get it you're disappointed an all, but it's total normal human behavior.

What? My point was she never said he was the love of her life, that's an assumption you made. And yes, while Cassandra is a romantic, she also wants to be treated as such and given all the finer things she feels she is deserving of. Gaylan can't do that in a tower. For whatever reasons it didn't work out, it didn't. She moved on. It's been 20 years.

It's a term of phrase. I never get why people have to argue that they are calm if they really are.

edit: wrong thread
It's a term of phrase. I never get why people have to argue that they are calm if they really are.
It is most likely because of a miscommunication that occurs in text-based communication. Only about 7% of a message's intent and tone is transferred in text. That's why authors of books have to describe how the person says what they say.
As for the rest, it is a matter of interpretation which means there will be nothing but arguing if it continues and I don't want to subject the thread to that. I just wished to express my disapointment with how Gaider handled things again, this time with Cassandra.

In regards to the joking, are you referring to the book thing?

I think this is simply a case of people not liking to hear about someone's past love life. Of course, this is just a story, but it's interactive enough that our consciousness somewhat experiences things as we would in real life. Everyone knows people have pasts.. I don't think any adult is in denial about that. It's just not a topic most care to get into much. And it transfers to a game, I guess. Funnily.
I don't think most adults care about the relationship a woman was in twenty years ago. Especially if it was her only one.

That is the first one to come to mind, yes.

Well yeah. I forgot to register the time span here. Hmm
It depends though.. I think there ARE some women from 20 years ago I could disappoint somebody about ![]()

Is that really a problem for her to like books like that?

I'm pretty sure we didn't come up with the book thing. And what's the damn problem with her liking Varric's stuff any way?
Well yeah. I forgot to register the time span here. Hmm

Touche.(Oh snap)

I have no idea what this book you're talking about is. I remember some banter when she asked about Varric's writing. That's it.
If it's something more titillating.. then I do think Gaider can over do that at times. It's funny in the right places though.
