Is that really a problem for her to like books like that?

A little, yeah.

I'm pretty sure we didn't come up with the book thing. And what's the damn problem with her liking Varric's stuff any way?

Her liking "smutty literature" as she put it was one of the biggest jokes about Cassandra started by some of the fanbase.

I have to say, my opinion of Cassandra has deteriorated somewhat in this game. Or rather, the handling of her.

First, they make pretty much pretty much every single joke about her on the forums to be facts.

Second, they make the Cassandra/Gaylan thing which was a chaste kiss into an actual affair.

Third, she is ready to get into bed with someone else only a few months after the love of her life for decades is killed.

She never said Gaylan was the love of her life. She just said that hes the only other man she's been with. BIG difference.

Anyways..

Now that I think about it, I'm really sad about this. He's kind of a dork, but he definitely didn't deserve to die.

The fanbase didn't start that joke. Also, incase you didn't know, and I wouldn't be surprised if you hadn't, that's a pretty common thing among women in general. Even in Thedas, where Varic has fans even among the nobility in Orlais of all place. Everyone, most in fact, isn't going to be like you.

Technically it was started by the devs, joking about how she loved reading hard in hightown as if the book was dirty (because the title does sound like a porno movie). And from there the BSN ignited. lol

Besides, what Cass calls smut is just a typical romance novel. Its as if she enjoyed reading 50 shades of gray. Does that ruin her character? I think not.

Like Br3ad and Elu said, that wasn't created by the fanbase

That is the first one to come to mind, yes.

That's not a fan thing. It started when the writers saw Varric's Hard in Hightown novel on the war table in the 2011 E3 trailer and started to make all sort of jokes about it. Fans just picked up on the writer's tweets really (especially Mary Kirby's and Gaider's).

I did not know a dev started it. I apologize for the false allegations.

Still hate it though. And how as you said a joke became a truth.

Quite. It was a joke by the devs, and then one of Varric's books was in the E3 Fires Above Trailer near where Cassandra stabbed the table. And then it took off from there.

2013 lol. It wasn't that long ago.

I think the writers have dirty minds themselves. The fans don't have any say in it, either way.

Although I myself appreciate them when they're more serious. They're good at that too.

It's not like it's a bad thing, some woman like books like that

He's just another string of bad luck for Cassandra.

I can't wait for DA4 and the codex saying the Inquisitor died while Cassandra was looking helpless if you romanced her.

This might be a joke, but there is a trend in her backstory so I'm feeling queasy still.

I always liked that Morrigan never went to that level. Always so serious.

Of course, she had many worse flaws. I just like this about her. You couldn't even get her to do the whole orgy thing at the Pearl.

Morrigan didn't take part in the orgy at the Pearl because she is straight. She has no interest at all in women. Shes also not the type to share.

Yeah, there's all those reasons, but she doesn't fit in this whole kinky type of banter or setting anyways. And I still don't think Cassandra really does either.

Morrigan is definitely into that stuff. She talks about it with Leliana when you're in a romance with both.

I wouldn't doubt she's into that stuff. I just don't see her announcing it much.

With Leliana it makes sense though.. if it's competitive and to get a rise.

Still though, I stand corrected. I'm surprised there are still things I don't know about DAO after so many years.

The only conflicts I see with her is with the mages and the wardens. That's it. And by the way I haven't much started on the game yet mainly cause I keep restarting cause I haven't made the perfect face for my dalish elf warrior yet. :P

Speaking of books, has anyone else noticed how Cass seems to have stopped stabbing objects?

If anyone is worried about the mission concerning Empress Celene and Cassandra's approval -

So the game guide doesn't seem to be covering all the choices you can make.

Cassandra's "But you're the Inquisitor" line after suggesting that you read her book is just pure... I'm not sure what it was, but whatever it was, it was great.
