I always thought choosing to ally with the mages is what would make her unable to become Divine, which is why I was a bit worried. I want her to be Divine.

So, uh...once again, any advice for assuring she gets there? This game is way too long for me to redo it, I'd rather get it right the first time.

I'd really like to know this too. She's my choice for Divine and I'm in the same boat re: mages.

I've only really done the Hawke quests as far as main story goes since I started act 2, so I'm hoping I haven't locked myself into anything yet, but I'd really like to know what to watch out for as I progress

if i can avoid Cass as the next Devin i will. Just don't see how that would turn out well for the romance. Plus i like the idea of Leliana as the Divine. She's been there since Orgins, and I just think that would be a kind of cool end point for Leliana's story in my world.

Can you share what choices you made throughout the game that led to that outcome? Trying to narrow down how each divine is chosen.

So...Celene is the deciding factor it seems. That's...weird. Seeing as Leliana doesn't even support her.

Thanks for the information, I don't think Celene is the deciding factor entirely, but it definitely seems to contribute more towards Leliana from what I'm hearing. Which as Snook mentioned is strange given she was the first one to suggest letting Celene die. 

 

Br3admax, after telling the chantry representative to leave without taking leliana/cassandra did you ever see an operation on the war table for who you would want to support for the new divine? Trying to figure out whether your response to the representative has any effect either. On my playthrough I told her she couldn't take them either, and I never saw any "support X for chantry" operation, available or completed.

Well, if I have to end the romance, then I'll attempt to get Leliana instead. Can I conscript the mages and still have Leliana as Divine, provided I choose Empress Celene? I don't want to gain Cassandra's "greatly disapprove" and then not be able to romance her anyways, plus the mages offended my bro, King Alistair, according to the videos I've seen
