This was always how I interpreted Andraste in the chant. She never hated mages. She called it gift, that must be used wisely and for the good of all. What she was really fighting was anyone with unchecked power. It happened to be the magisters in that case.

 

I can agree with that. Doesn't change the fact that the war is because both Templars and Mages on both sides acted like asshats.

It doesn't really end.  Cassandra's stays with the Inquisition if she's not made Divine.

No reason to end it when she isnt Divine. Though the whole "I'll always love you" stuff makes the break up a bit beter.

Just to add to the Divine thing... I romanced Cassandra in a world state where Leliana is romanced, so I didn't want either of them as the Divine. I somehow pulled it off and Vivienne ended up with the role. Overall I thought I was relatively moderate in my choices, and I didn't really encourage Cassandra to be Divine, though I did encourage her to reform the Seekers. Major choices were mages conscripted, Celene on throne with Briala exiled, allied with the Wardens, Hawke alive, Morrigan had an Old God Baby and drank from the Well. When the representative came I didn't voice support for either, just said it was their place to decide if they were interested. Leliana is hard on my playthrough, though I'm not sure how that happened? May be a factor in her not being Divine. That's what I remember offhand, but feel free to ask for any other specifics and I'll share what I can recall.

Interesting. I have a save early enough to replicate most of this, and as pointed out earlier, Vivi wouldn't be a bad Divine. I care more about Celene taking the throne more than anything, tbh

Maybe having her reform Seekers is what keeps her from being the divine? Where do you get this conversation with her from, I don't remember it.

It's after you find out the truth about them. Also that's not it, I told her to reform the Seekers, and she still became Divine. If anything, that encourages it.

It's going to takes years before we really learn how the choice is made at this rate. I get the feeling it's not just main quest choices that affect it. There is too many NPCs asking the PC what they think and the answers are always representing the 3 end options +  sometimes one that is "I don't care".

Hard as in, hardened. Tougher, colder, more "anything it takes to get the job done"; like, she still cares about people and doing good, but is willing to get her hands very dirty and distance herself from her agents. Basically, she seems a lot like the way she talked about how she used to be while a bard. She's still pretty cool, but I'd prefer to see what I can do to keep her more easygoing and kind aspects, since it's apparently possible. Not sure what that means for the Divine choice though. I imagine eventually we'll have enough info to do a proper guide.

 

Also, on an unrelated note but about Cassandra's romance... I uploaded a video of the culmination scene with my dwarf. It's slightly NSFW and Cassandra does make a slightly spoilery comment about the Elder One near the end, so it's not recommended you watch it if you haven't gotten to Skyhold yet. Or if you really hate dwarves or Cadash/Cassandra.

I respectfully disagree, but since I know there's a fair amount of dwarf hate on this thread, that's why I put the warning on it. I'm certainly not forcing anyone to look at it, it's there for anyone who's curious. Has nothing to do with "getting off" and more to do with just sharing my Inquisitor/Cassandra related stuff. You know, like people tend to do on these sorts of threads. Just because I didn't romance her with a human or elf doesn't make my playthrough with my Cadash any less serious. Your mileage may vary.
