If she had to wear a dress for a ball, I think she'd go out and get herself a dress to wear. The dress would be whatever is appropriate for the occasion. If someone wanted to help, that would be okay, as long as they didn't get in her way.

Making a fuss over a basic social situation or acting like a child that can't handle dressing themselves would probably not appeal to her.

Cassandra strikes me as highly competent and focused.

Well yeah, but you'll never see fanart comics of that, it'd be kinda boring, lol

Different people find different things amusing or interesting.

I suspect that Cassandra will get a number of clever Joss Whedonique lines that will be dry and sarcastic. Many people will like them, I shall not.

This is an okay thing.

You never know. You might get a chuckle out of them, Lady Maria.

Inquisitor: Can you even move in that?

Cassandra: Several layers of skirts is still lighter than full plate.

Inquisitor: (offers Cassandra a knife) Want my spare?

Cassandra: (holds up a short sword) I'm fine.

Inquisitor: How are you going to hide it?

Cassandra: In this dress? I could fit an entire armory on here.

Felt like sharing these, I just screencapped a copy of the trailer I found, and they came out so beautifully I just had to share.

I think her being an LI for male Inquisitors is practically a given.

Also, while Cassandra left her noble lifestyle behind, we have no indication that she hated it. Her brother's death is the catalyst, not having to wear a dress and attending lavish parties.

Until it's confirmed I'll be on the cautiously pessimistic band wagon.

Is this because you don't want to be disappointed, or do you believe that she's more likely to be lesbian instead of straight/bisexual?

Someone needs to be the lesbian going by what the dev said. You got to choose between Cassandra, Maleficent!Vivienne, BrattyElf and the NPCScribble. One of them is probably not a romance as well and it's not Cassandra.

I know that. though I don't understand why would the fact the one LI is surely lesbian means that cassandra is more likely to be lesbian than straight/bisexual.
I don't really care who will be straight, homosexual or bisexual. I was just asking hotdogbsg the reason behind his pessimism.

And it's sad that i can't share the happiness bc of the possibility she might not be for female Inquisitors. :(

And i want to be happy dammit.

Ah, everyone knows that the first lady you see in trailers and is confirmed LI is pretty much to be romanced by males. Only males, if we go by Bioware's history to make every 'main' lady a hetero romance.

I really hope they'll break the ice and make the main lady for women too.

Isabela doesn't count because 1) we knew she was bisexual and 2) they used different romance system.

And we never had a gay lady/guy in trailers as shown to be the first romance.

she was a  part of the royal family, even if she was a distant relative, she would have been brought up in high society... she can handle herself in such a situation, she may not like it, but she can pull it off

What history?

Here is what I remember of BioWare's history and marketing:

Jade Empire was their first game with full bisexual romances and Silk Fox (bi) has more plot important than Dawn Star (the marketing focused on the different PC mostly though). ME 2 only has hetero romances as full romances. Same goes for BG2, NWN and KoTOR, unless you count the Junahi thing that flew over most player's head.

The ME games focus on default male Shepard and BioWare prefer to market human romance but even then Liara is the poster girl for ME3 (and arguably the main romance of the series).

I personally only see a trend of focusing on the male demographic, not so much on the hetero romance. And in the latest DAI trailer has 0 romance content, Cassandra is more marketed as a super important character (sort of like Duncan and we all now what happened to him).

This is what my post was about, that they'd rather focus on hetero males, Mass Effect and Dragon Age Origins for example (i haven't played the old bioware titles to judge).

Most women were marketed as co-protagonists and they were hetero romances. And Liara wasn't the poster girl until ME3, Ashley was. She even was in two ME trailers.

I'd love to be wrong with Cass being hetero romance, until then let me have my doubts.

cass being too popular a character wont be strictly lesbian, too many people would get mad... maybe bi, but if shes not then shes goin to be hetero... no chance of her being only lesbian

I agree that Cassandra isn't going to be a lesbian, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility of her being bisexual.

What makes you think she's only popular to males? Have you seen tumblr? :P

My point is, she's popular to ladies as well. Not only men.

im just sayin dont expect her to be strictly lesbian...  if they arent going to make her bi, i just dont see bioware making her strictly lesbian

The hetero male focus was caused because all their older games were designed for hetero only (minus Jade Empire and DAO). Their most recent games , DA2 and ME3, both have bisexual female "leads". Even Jade Empire could be said to have a bisexual female lead as well.

I'm not saying that Cassandra can't be straight. I'm saying that BioWare history is not to have the main girl being straight (especially in recent games).

Beside, Cassandra wasn't used as eye-candy in the trailer. She's one of BioWare less sexualized female character. He presence in the trailer is total different than seeing Morrigan's sex scene in DAO gameplay trailer...
